Description
PETER DAWSON (1882 – 1961) – AMBASSADOR OF SONG – EMI / National Library Of Australia PD 1.
On offer is a 10 LP box set set featuring the work of Australian baritone, PETER DAWSON. The box set was put together in 1982 to celebrate the centenary of Dawson’s birth. The project also tried as far as possible not to duplicate material that had been released on other LP’s. The recordings range from those made on wax cylinders to those made in stereo. The box set comes with a 24 page book that details Dawson’s recording career and gives information about the tracks on the records (where and when they were recorded etc).
There are too many tracks to list individually here. I estimate that there are at least 200.
A very nice item.
The records look to be unplayed. I am never keen to describe records as being in MINT condition but these look to be just that. Very nice. The book is in EX+ condition. The box has some small spots of silverfish damage.
