Description
Up for auction is a super rare copy of the classic Peter Frampton album "Frampton Comes Alive" originally released on A&M Records (SP-3703) in 1976. This is a guaranteed original U.S. pressing, not a cheap reissue, import, or 180g reissue. Original gatefold cover with 2 Lps, still sealed. I have listed this album as "used" simply because it is not a new release. It has never been opened, never played. It is "new old stock".
This copy is still sealed in the original factory shrink wrap with the original factory hype sticker--it has the earliest known version of the hype sticker. Later pressings had different hype stickers. No UPC/bar code on cover. This is not a Record Club pressing, like many sealed copies being sold on eBay as "original". No factory cut out marks or punch holes in cover.
Keep in mind that this U.S. release was the first and original release of this album as the U.K. release came out later the same year.
Cover is in beautiful condition, still in factory shrink wrap, which is virtually completely intact aside from one very small--not obvious--open spot in upper right corner (see photo), with a very tiny bit of rubbing. The shrink wrap looks shiny and new with virtually no signs of wear or ring wear. Corners are sharp, not bumped in any way. Still has original store inventory sticker in upper right, which is affixed to the shrink, not the album itself. Grade the cover an easy Near Mint.
As a sealed copy, the vinyl is in Mint condition, never opened, never played. Amazing opportunity to own a mint copy of one of the greatest live rock albums ever. Similar sealed copies have sold for over $150.
