In recent weeks we have seen Colleges In Folkus appear on eBay (Sold for over £800), the book from the LP (sold for over £200)... we've even seen the early Colleges In Concert LP (sold for over £400)... both super rare private press albums... both now entering the hallowed corridors of mega-rarities... now... little does anybody know, but inbetween these two LPs that showcased Peter Morton's teaching abilities... came another LP... pressed on the legendary Deroy... also believed to have been pressed in a quantity of just 100 (or actually 99 copies).
There are no complete songs, which is a shame, just lots of small snippets of different folk songs played and sung by Pete Morton with some accompaniment from Sue Phillips, Ann Stansfield and Jean Robinson, vocal and guitar. With the last part of the LP given over to a few by some folk groups he had taught.
Unfortunately there is no song list, but I can confirm som of the song snippets as "Going To The Zoo (Paxton)", "Kids Colour Bar (Andrews)", "Hush Little Baby", "Jesse James", "Horton Down (Morton -self-penned))", "Time They Are A Changing (Dylan)", "Joys Of Love", "Silent Night", "Geordie (a great track that featured on Colleges in Concert)", "I'm A Calypso", "Sounds Of Silence", "Single Girl", "Needle Of Death (Jansch)", "Four Strong Winds", "Frankie And Johnny", "Lady From Baltimore", "Aberlene", "We Should Overcome", "Careless Love", "Dirty Old Town"... and possible a few more...
The label is the same as his other two LPs, plain white, which is a bit strange when you consider the effort made in getting sleeves printed, the sleeve mentions Abraham Moss, Rochdale College and Plant Hill, but doesn't reference the performers.
Super rare item, and a must for you true Deroy collectors...

Matrix numbers are scratched into the dead wax, with just the side number written on the plain white glossy labels, with centre indent as to be expected
