Peter Schilling - The Different Story - Vinyl 12" Maxi Single 1988 WEA Musik 247 091-0. This is the original '88 German import pressing. See cover and label details in the photos. While numerous new wave artists in the early '80s tried to imitate David Bowie, Peter Schilling went a step further. In 1983, Schilling released "Major Tom (Coming Home)," a synth pop retelling of Bowie's 1969 classic "Space Oddity." It became Schilling's first and only entry in the U.S. charts, a song that eventually stigmatized him as a one-hit wonder in America. Schilling was born in Stuttgart, Germany, on January 28, 1956. His debut album, Error in the System, appeared in 1983. The single "Major Tom (Coming Home)" wasn't just popular in the U.S., it was a worldwide smash. The video was played often on MTV, as well, but Schilling was not able to equal its success. In 1988, Schilling collaborated with Enigma's Michael Crétu on the track "The Different Story (World of Lust and Crime)," an admirable attempt at updating his sound and trying to return to the American charts.

N/Mint: Near Perfect, played rarely if ever. May have 1 or 2 very slight superficial paper scuffs that does not affect play.
EX: Almost like new, might have a few superficial signs of use that does not affect play. Very well cared for.
VG+: Some slight signs of wear, may have slight sleeve scuffs or lite scratches (should play well).
VG: Surface noise will be noticeable but will not overpower the music, more noticeable scuffs and lite scratches.
VG-: Vinyl will play but may have surface noise on some tracks, signs of heavy use or wear. Note, I rarely sell albums with this grade unless it is a real treasure and hard to find album that collectors look for to add to their collection.
