We have here on AUCTION one of the few singles of the great cult Portuguese Progressive Rock band PETRUS CASTRUS active in the 70's. Some of you might know some Portuguese Progressive records through some current reissues like the Tantra albums, the Saga project, Jose Cid's "10000 anos..." Lp (avoid the other solo stuff except for the "Vida" 7"!! NOT Symphonic, NOT Prog, NOT Psych!!!) and PETRUS CASTRUS reissue of the second album "Ascenção e Queda" from 1978. Unfortunately the debut from 1973 "Mestre" (mega rare album, most of the copies destroyed by the old dictatorship regime due to lyrical content) is not reissued to most of Progressive Rock fans misfortune however i can say its considered the BEST PROG record ever made in Portugal! Petrus Castrus were the best musicians and composers in the country. They recorded the first album in France in the studio used earlier by Pink Floyd!
This is a 1977 single released before the album "Ascenção e Queda" with 2 awesome tracks not available elsewhere: "Candida" is a Tropicalia successful attempt similar to the Mutantes and "No concelho de cá" is totally Prog Rock early 70's style for fans of King Crimson and (later) Captain Beyond. Miss this band and you're committing a crime!
