NEWSAGENT'S DESCRIPTION

This listing is for an original 1974 US pressing of Love In Us All, the late-Impulse! album by avant-garde saxophonist Pharoah Sanders, released by ABC Impulse! (ASD-9280). Sanders is joined by Joe Bonner on piano, Cecil McBee on bass, Norman Connors on drums, James Branch on flute, and percussionists Lawrence Killian, James Mtume, and Badal Roy. The album contains two extended compositions: “Love Is Everywhere” and “To John.”

One of the defining figures of spiritual and free jazz, Sanders had emerged from his work with John Coltrane to develop an expressive style combining ecstatic improvisation, modal jazz, percussion, and deeply spiritual themes. Love In Us All became Sanders’ final album as a leader for Impulse!. “To John” is a tribute to John Coltrane.

This edition was pressed at the Columbia Records Pressing Plant, Terre Haute and is presented in stereo/quadraphonic QS-encoded sound. The LP is housed in its original gatefold jacket, and has been play tested and ultrasonically cleaned.

Very Good (VG)

Vinyl has visible surface wear and light scratches, with occasional surface noise but no skips. Sleeve shows moderate wear such as ring wear, seam splits, writing, or creasing.
