COVER CONDITION – ORIGINAL COMPANY PICTURE SLEEVE. SOME WATER DAMAGE TO BOTH SIDES SO GRADED GOOD/FAIR.
Phil Phillips With The Twilights
Profile:- Phil Phillips' most famous song, "Sea of Love", peaked at #1 on the U.S. Billboard R&B chart and #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1959. Nonetheless, Phillips was paid only $6800, and received no further royalties for the song or its recording. In the UK, Marty Wilde covered the song, and Phil Phillips' version failed to chart there. It was the only top 40 chart song for Phillips, who never had another hit.He recorded an anti-drug spoken word recording, "The Evil Dope", in the late 1960s; the single is considered a cult classic. The song has been covered by a number of artists since then, most notably by The Honeydrippers, whose version (from their album Volume One) reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and #1 on the adult contemporary chart in 1984.Tom Waits gave the song a darker twist for the soundtrack to the 1989 Harold Becker film Sea of Love starring Al Pacino and Ellen Barkin, and Waits included it on his 2006 collection Orphans: Brawlers, Bawlers & Bastards.
"Sea of Love" had made the Top 40 just one other time, when Del Shannon took it to #33 in 1981.
Phillips later worked as a radio DJ. He married and had seven children.
In October 2007, Phillips was honoured for his contributions to Louisiana music and was inducted into the Louisiana Hall of Fame.
One of his last live performances was in April 2005 at the Jazz Fest in New Orleans, Louisiana, a few months before Hurricane Katrina.PLEASE NOTE -

- Mint - I will not grade Mint unless I am absolutely sure it has not been played
- Mint Minus [N.M.] - Label and Vinyl looks perfect and plays perfect
- Excellent - Vinyl has virtually no blemishes. Plays Perfect. Label may have a sticker.
- VG plus - Has the odd superficial mark but plays without any surface noise or skips or crackles. Very close to Excellent. May have sticker
- VG - Same as above but may have more marks. But still plays without skips or surface noise.
- GOOD more noticeable marks than a VG+ but has no skips or jumps. May have SLIGHT surface noise
