Phil Spector and Various Artists - 'Phil Spector's Christmas Album'. APCOR 24
Phil Spector's 1972 UK 1st MONO Apple DEMONSTRATION pressing of the 'Phil Spector's Christmas Album' LP. It is offered here with in simply stunning EXCELLENT+/MINT- condition and comes from a large collection of Apple vinyl promos and memorabilia currently listed. Released on the 8th December 1972, these demo pressings would have been given out to reviewers or radio stations before the official release date.
'Phil Spector's Christmas Album' was not a huge hit back in 1972 as you may expect. The album and many of the tracks have only only really become appreciated with the passage of time. Some of these songs are simply icons for multiple generations with many being the finest tracks Spector produced with his trademark 'Wall of Sound' treatment.
Released on the 'Apple Records' label both sides state 'DEMONSTRATION RECORD NOT FOR SALE'. In addition to being a demo version the record is highly unusual for the fact it is mono. In 1972 the year of release mono records were just about completely phased out in favor of stereo. The album comes fully complete with the original Apple inner sleeves and correct fully laminated cover. Both sides of the vinyl also feature 1G mothers and stampers making this one of the very, very first copies to be produced.

Side 2. APCOR 24 B - 3U 1 G
The vinyl is in EXCELLENT+/MINT- condition. STUNNING.
Both sides of the vinyl have been play tested with NO faults at all, PERFECT.
Both labels are in MINT- condition. STUNNING.
The sleeve is in EXCELLENT/EXCELLENT+ condition.
The inner sleeve is in EXCELLENT condition. Minor seem split to the bottom edge otherwise perfect.
