The item up for auction is a SUPER RARE COLLECTORS and MUSIC LOVERS item. A recording of the SHOSTAKOVICH SYMPHONY NR. 5 performed by the NEW YORK PHILHARMONIC conducted by LEONARD BERNSTEIN. This is a FIRST STEREO PRESSING (HI-FI STEREO) issued in HOLLAND on the PHILIPS record label. A truly wonderful recording in NEAR MINT CONDITION!
Long out of print and now a scarce title, this auction is for a near mint copy of -
SHOSTAKOVICH - SYMPHONY NO. 5 IN D MAJOR OP. 47 - performed by:
LEONARD BERNSTEIN CONDUCTING THE NEW YORK PHILHARMONIC
The LP is from the SUPER rare PHILIPS HI FI STEREO (FIRST ISSUE) series of LPs (now LONG out of print and hotly pursued by audiophile and music collector alike), catalog # 835 548 AY (in stereo).
Overall, the LP & Jacket are in NEAR MINT condition!
Condition Details - the JACKET is completely intact with no splits - it is nice and solid with clean corners and vivid colours - just beautiful given the vintage of the LP!
The LP is near mint and played that way when spot play graded - looked and played like a new record. The vinyl has a DEEP RED/MAROON record label, with predominantly SILVER lettering. The LP was clearly issued and pressed in HOLLAND.
This LP is an audiophile quality pressing (any collector of fine MFSL, half speeds, direct to discs, Japanese/UK pressings etc., can attest to the difference a quality pressing can make to an audio system).
