1990 Absolute A-Go-Go Records Pressing
Up for auction here is a beautifully kept copy of this amazing LP from my collection. As you probably already know, this is the most rare and hard to find of Phish albums. This copy is from the original first pressing which was solely limited to 1,000 copies. Shortly after the album was released on Absolute A-Go-Go Records the label went bankrupt. Only 500 of the original 1,000 copies pressed were sold. The remaining stock was redistributed back to the band for friends and family. On top of this, the bankruptcy court seized Absolute A- Go-Go's masters and Phish was left high and dry with no recording contract and no money for this great album. This is one of the albums given back to the band. Also, please note the mispelling of "Run Like An Antelope" on the original outer sleeve and inner sleeve as "Run Like And Antelope. This was corrected by Elektra on later reissues.
This copy is the original first pressing! Each side of the vinyl is hand etched with the orignal catalogue # AGO 1992 1 A/B. The initials RJ are also hand etched onto each side along with the following number designation 29120(3) as well as a stamping which says MASTERED BY TRUTONE. The thick American style hard cardboard outer sleeve is in stunning NM condition. There are no dings, creases, or blemishes of any kind. The vinyl record has been gently listened to; however, there are no visible signs of wear. The vinyl is in pristine NM condition with a high sheen gloss that is as bright as the first day it was opened. The album also comes with the original black and white inner sleeve in excellent condition. The record has always been stored in a Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs rice paper inner sleeve and a Japanese sealable outer sleeve. If you're a collector, you will appreciate the condition of this vinyl. Honestly, I believe you'll be hard pressed to find a nicer copy anywhere.
