Description
Here's the last record by NOBLE SISSLE AND EUBIE BLAKE, one of the greatest and most successful of all Black vaudeville acts. Together since 1917, these two were brilliant entertainers, and Blake himself one of the best pianists in New York. They were show business pioneers, too, bringing African-Americans back to Broadway in 1921, with their exuberant show, "SHUFFLE ALONG" on Broadway.
"PICKANINNY SHOES" is Sissle & Blake's swan-song on record, this being the last side before they went their separate ways in 1927.
"SWEETHEART MEMORIES" is Sissle WITHOUT Blake - actually Rube Bloom - shortly after the breakup.
This original 1927 "Electric" OKeh 40917 is in lovely EE- condition.

These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing! My highest priority in these eBay auctions is to give you the best possible idea of a record’s true condition and aesthetic value. I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all. If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will!
