Italian journalist is back to Congo and meets his long awaited lover, a Belgian woman. The old flame sparks again, but it's difficult to go back.

The story is inconsistent, but the documentary is interesting and suggestive in addressing the socio-political problems of the new independent Africa with seriousness, sincerity and commitment.

Giuseppe Bennati, when filming "Congo vivo", was at high risk of heart attack...  With the political situation in Congo in 1961, he was responsible for the whole film crew and the appropriate technical paraphernalia. The documetary scenes were filmed hiding the camera in a truck, with the likelihood that, at any moment, it could have ended up in a tragedy.

The script might not have had much to lose... but the good will of the actors and the art of Bennati, yes !

The bitter love affair between Roberto and Annette is treated with an exotic and sophisticated touch by PIERO PICCIONI, on the background of the civil war in Congo in 1962.

NUNZIO ROTONDO is the outstanding jazz trumpet soloist in this score

Light cardboard, strong fully laminated cover, in EX+ condition, with both perfect flipbacks, sharp corners with no bumps or wear, seams, fully readable spine with intact lamination; light ring wear on front cover.

Vinyl :   NM/EX+ 

The shiny vinyl looks  almost unplayed on side 1, with no rubs or marks whatsoever. Side 2 looks played with care with a few visual little rubs producing occasional and very light surface noise, absolutely not intruding the music.

EP VOCE DEL PADRONE 7EMQ 238 original 1st and only italian pressing. Original purple labels with silver lettering loook as new.

GRADING CODE

Grading is VISUAL, under a bright light. 

        NM  (Near Mint): Record has been opened, and probably played, but is in impeccable condition. I do not use "mint".

EX   (Excellent): Has signs of use or storage, but still considered top collection quality. Jackets may display some very light wear; vinyl may have a few light sleeve marks only visible in the highest light. Sound will full and clear, with little if any noise (NOTE, some records are just pressed poorly).

VG+ (Very Good Plus): Still a great copy but has a bit more wear. Vinyl may have some light scuffs or scratches, but nothing deep. Jacket may have some ringwear or seamwear. Sound should be great, with minimal if any noise.

VG  Very Good): A great play copy but clearly used. Vinyl will display many hairline scuffs or scratches, but will play with a tolerable amount of noise. Jacket may have splits and wear but will not be falling apart.

VG-(Very Good Minus): A used or worn copy, that has not been taken good care of. Vinyl will have many scuffs or scratches, but play through enjoyably despite audible background noise. Covers will have tears, splits, writing, or other issues. 

 G  Fair, Poor: A very rough copy. Will play through without skipping unless otherwise noted, although records of this grade are sold AS-IS.
