Note : musiche composte da Piero Piccioni, orchestra diretta da Pierluigi Urbini. Una grande colonna sonora dove la musica, di carattere sinfonico con alcune interessanti sonorità d'avanguardia come il particolare uso delle percussioni, riflette perfettamente la drammacità della trama del film. I temi, o meglio le suites, affrontano la guerra senza mai provocare sensazioni di epicità o avventura, concentrandosi unicamente nel dolore fisico e morale dei soldati con l'alito della morte che soffia alle loro spalle e li colpisce. 12 tracce.

Notes : music Piero Piccioni, orchestra Pierluigi Urbini. A great soundtrack entirely based on symphonic music with some interesting avantgarde solutions such as the special use of the percussions, which perflectly reflects the dramatic power of the film plot. The themes, or better the suites, face up to the war without any compromise with epic or adventure sound content. The music is exclusively centred on the soldiers' pain and sorrow with the breath of the death blowing from behind and take them away.  12 tracks.
