7-inch, 45rpm OST single by ZEUDI ARAYA music by PIERO UMILIANI 

             Original Italian pressing on the BLA BLA label (BBR 1338) 1973


Exotic tripped out pop music oddity by the Eritrean born supermodel and Playboy poster girl, Zeudi Araya, who featured in a string of soft core seventies sleaze movies out of Italy like Il Corpo and La Ragazza Dalla Pelle Di Luna. This rare and collectible 7 inch contains strange and beautiful cues from La Ragazza Fuoristrada that never made in onto Umiliani's original and monstrously rare Library soundtrack on Liuto label. This beautifully constructed left field exotica has a mysterious, strung-out approach by the coveted Sound Work Shop session players, led by Umiliani himself. OLTRE L'ACQUA DEL FIUME is a shimmering trippy pop cult classic with a hip fender bassline alongside that hypnotic pulsating synthesizer motif which screams Italo weirdness. Gentle lilting mellow psych guitars coincide with stoned out tropical percussion and the seductive vocals of Araya give the track a woozy filtered warmth. The MARYAM side is more raw and ethnic mood music from a deeper place, reminiscent of Umiliani's excellent ethnic hybrid library records Africa or indeed his superb Continente Nero LP. This 45 is a rare slice of the maestro's genius at a time when he was producing score after score of deep end quality Italiana both for his Liuto label and for the soundtrack stables. With its incredible cover art sleeve it's a beautiful 45 reminiscent of the Zelda OST or the Eye of the Hurricane OST
