Irish musician pigbaby, known for his commitment to anonymity and his full-length pig costume in press photos, is set to release his debut album, I don't care if anyone listens to this shit unless you do, next via Vegyn's label PLZ Make It Ruins. This lo-fi project, mixed by Preston artist Rainy Miller, evokes a melancholic, DIY sound reminiscent of Daniel Johnston. Influenced by artists like Genesis P-Orridge, Throbbing Gristle, Psychic TV and Philip Glass, pigbaby crafts music that's painfully honest and sonically unconventional. Emerging from a breakup and a bout of depression, pigbaby began releasing music in 2022. His debut EP, Palindromes, gained cult acclaim, and his upcoming album promises a more polished sound. Created during a two-month retreat in the Irish countryside, the album features contributions from Max Granger, Maria Somerville, Felix Stephens, and Cajm. The record explores themes of love, heartbreak, hope, and identity. With music videos shot across Indonesia, Ireland, New York, Japan, and London, Pigbaby's debut album is a unique listen for those looking for something different.
