RARE ORIGINAL UK METAL BOX TRIPLE VINYL FIRST PRESSING OF THIS LEGENDARY PUNK CLASSIC.
IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND TOTALLY COMPLETE WITH "METAL 1" STICKER ON BASE OF TIN, THE FOUR WHITE PAPER CIRCULAR INNER RECORD DIVIDERS, THE VERY RARE PAPER FLYER OF CREDITS AND TRACK LISTINGS ALL IN RED PRINT, AND INCLUDED AS A BONUS TO THE WINNER WITH THIS SALE IS A PHOTO COPY OF THE VERY RARE NEW MUSICAL EXPRESS FULL PAGE ADVERT FOR THE METAL BOX SET FROM 24th NOVEMBER 1979.

Released in 1979.
MATRIX NUMBERS ARE: METAL 1-A-2 1-B-1; 1-C-2; 1-D-1; 1-E-1; 1-F-2.
RECORDS ALL EXCELLENT, NOT MANY PLAYS.
PAPER DIVIDERS ALL EXCELLENT, VERY CLEAN.
METAL BOX EXCELLENT CONDITION.
SMALL PAPER TRACKS AND CREDITS LISTINGS FLYER EXCELLENT,
Records: The vinyl surface of all the records is excellent, All appear to have few plays. There are only very few visible surface marks or scuffs on the records when viewed under a bright light.
The Labels are very good, light aging marking only, clean labels. Classic PIL Black on side 1 and PIL Red on side 2 of each record. There is no writing, and there are no stickers on the labels, clean unmarked labels.
Metal Box: The Metal Box is in excellent condition, original box, patinisation with age as expected, still retaining much of the original silver metallic finish. PIL embossed logo in centre of tin lid. No dents, very tight fitting air tight lid. Still has traces of the original factory sealing tape applied to opposite ends of tin when new. Original METAL 1 label on base of tin is totally intact and clean.!
Paper Dividers: This set came with four circular white paper dividers protecting the the vinyl from each other and the matal tin surface. All Four white paper inner dividers are all in excellent condition and still a tight fit in box. All are very clean and free from creases.
Paper Flyer: The A5 sized "hand printed" effect paper flyer which has all the track and credit listings is in excellent condition. No creases other than very minute to extreme corner edges, sharp edges to sheet, Red print. No marks or tears, very clean condition and VERY RARE as most of these were lost from the set!!
NME Metal Box Ad: Purely as an added bonus I have included free with this purchase a COLOUR PHOTO COPY of the original Virgin FULL PAGE advertisement from the New Musical Eexpress dated 24/11/1979. The original has aged over the years and has slightly discoloured.
PLEASE NOTE; This is an exact colour photo copy reproduction of the original NME pages numbers 39, 40, 41 and 42, copied onto 2 sheets of approx A3 size paper, (the original was one sheet double sided), the other side has an interview with The Damned and makes interesting reading !!!!!
Please be aware that this is NOT an original copy, it is a PHOTO COPY of the original, please do not bid if you think you are purchasing an original copy, It has only been included for the benefit and enjoyment of the PIL fan or collector and adds to the interest of the Metal Box set.
