Description
This listing comprises the ORIGINAL pressing of PIL's 1979 classic, 'Metal Box' (Virgin Metal 1), in the eponymous erm, metal box (being big Dub and reggae fans, PiL wanted to follow the "dub-plate" idea, wanting the music to be heard at it`s best, and 3 x 12" records offered the best sound reproduction, whereas a normal album wouldn`t pick up all the frequencies. Listen to Jah Wobble`s bass on "Albatross" and then ask your neighbours if they could feel it!).
The set comprises;
3 x 12" vinyl records all in excellent condition.
4 x paper partition inserts in excellent condition.
Track-listing flyer.
The box is inevitably tarnished with age owing to the metal used (and the price reflects this), but is (happily!) dent free; the records themselves are practically unplayed.
Full track listing as follows;
1. Albatross
2. Memories
3. Swan Lake
4. Poptones
5. Careering
6. No Birds
7. Graveyard
8. Suit
9. Bad Baby
10. Socialist
11. Chant
12. Radio 4
I am not a dealer and only sell my own records, so can personally vouch for their condition.
I will post to locations outside of the UK, and will discount postage for multiple purchases. Whilst I offer a seven day returns policy, please note that I will ONLY post to the address you have listed with Ebay for reasons of identity fraud.
Thank you for reading my listing and if you have any questions please drop me an email.
