THE PINK FAIRIES: The Snake/Do It (Polydor 2058 089) ULTRA RARE 1971 UK 45 Psych Freak Hawkwind. Condition is "Used". Dispatched with Royal Mail 2nd Class Large Letter.
For auction this fantastically rare 45 by the Pink Fairies, The Snake/Do It - a famous and notorious crazed blast that frankly frightened the life out of most who heard it including their record company. It sold in pitifully small numbers although the Fairies would be allowed to go on to make some equally unhinged albums. This though remains one of their greatest moments and has understandably become supremely collectable.
This is a great copy of it, still in its birth bag. The vinyl remains bright and undimmed, there are hairlines and surface patterns here and there but NOTHING serious and certainly nothing that disturbs the deep rumbling drive of the music.No skips, no clicks, no distortion (other than what the band intended!). The Polydor labels are fresh, undimmed and vibrant, the full red, black and white pretty much as it was when it left the pressing plant fifty years ago. Labels and bag are free from writing, rips and staining which in itself is a rarity for freak psych 45s of the time. If you have read this far its likely you'll know what we have here and how rarely any copies surface.
