Description
PLEASE READ FIRST!
I'm having to make this even clearer as people are still buying records I'm grading low and as a 'collection filler', and then complain about the audio quality when they try to play them. As I VISUALLY GRADE my records I cannot guarantee that discs will be click, skip and noise free (although any marks that may cause such problems will be highlighted in the description). If you're looking for a copy to listen to then please look elsewhere.
All photos are of the actual item on sale. I do not use stock or 'borrowed' images.
PINK FLOYD
Dark Side of the Moon
Extremely Rare Contract Press!!
On offer here is an extremely rare and hard to find contract press copy of the ledgendary Pink Floyd LP Dark Side of the Moon.
If you look at any original copy of the Pink Floyd LP DSotM you can see that the label is flat, glossy, and has a single pinpoint circle running about an inch from the centrehole. This copy, however, is completely different and features a rough texture label and with a deep, embossed ridge about 3/4" from the centrehole - definitely not your typical EMI press! The vinyl is also pretty heavy and there is nothing machine stamped into the deadwax - just a hand-etched matrix number and the initial HTM.
These contract presses came about when EMI were unable to meet demand and so sub-contracted other labels to run off a small number to help keep on top of things. These contract presses were only ever made in much smaller quantities and, today, have become exceptionally difficult to find!
I'm not sure which company was contracted to press this particular copy although it has been suggested to me that it may have been Orlake.
Not in the best condition but is being sold as a collection filler due to its rarity! Does not come with posters or postcards.
Please check out large, detailed photos of this record at the bottom of this listing.

My Vinyl Grading:
MINT No true preowned disc can be mint. The highest I will ever grade a disc is NM+/M- if it looks untouched and unplayed, but the MINT description will only be for records I personally know have never been played (i.e. I personally bought from new) or for copies that are still sealed. NEAR MINT (NM) For discs that look near flawless and which may have just the slightest, barely visible little whispy marks here and there. EXCELLENT (EX) For discs that still retain a brilliant, clean shine but does have some light scuffs here and there. VERY GOOD (VG) For discs that still look clean and have a nice shine to them, but do have a fair amount of light scuffmarks and/or some light scratches. GOOD (G) For discs that look like they have been loved and have a fair amount of scuffs and surface scratches. Not in terrible condition, but would look like it would play with a lot of crackle. FAIR (F) For discs that may have some life left in them but are pretty trashed with numerous surface scuffs and heavier scuffs and scratches etc POOR (P) For discs that are unplayable and look completely trashed. Discs like this would only ever be offered if they were insanely rare.
