Pink Floyd : A Momentary Lapse Of Reason A2/B1 1st Press
This first pressing plays to an excellent standard and S1 in particular is superb. A little static at the start but when isn't there! S2 has a little more static but this is a regular thing with this record and the majority still plays with great clarity. The vinyl itself is visually is great condition with no marks or scratches.
The gatefold is in superb condition with very little wear and the lyric inner is also unmarked with no splits.
With international shipping (including Europe now) I will declare a lower amount so as to decrease/avoid any Customs' fees.

The audio on S1 is Mint(-) (T1 intro VG+ then Ex+ / T5 intro Ex+)
The audio on S2 ranges between VG+ and Mint- (detailed grading below, not too much VG+!)

Visual grading
The vinyl is in great condition and still has a very strong glossy sheen with no marks or scratches. There are only a small number of very faint sleeve removal hairlines, it could hardly look any better. The run out grooves are pristine and the labels have only a couple of spindle traces on each side.
Play grading
'Signs Of Life' always has some static/crackle on the intro and I mean always! There is some here but having played it a couple of times the stylus has performed its usual self cleaning exercise and has certainly improved the audio. It is only during the 'rowing boat' intro where the static is a little intrusive but it is not loud. Soon after the actual 'music' begins the playback is very clean with only very minimal static and it gets even better the more you progress into this instrumental. There are 3/4 light ticks on the fade out - I would grade the intro as VG+ but the majority is Ex+ for sure.
'Learning To Fly' plays with genuine quality from start to finish with no interference at all. The clarity is so impressive and there is a real sense of depth to the music. The audio is very strong and deep and Mint is very much deserved. Stunning!
The intro on 'The Dogs Of War' is close to perfect with only a handful of mega quiet dust ticks and the first verse is of the same standard. It continues in the same precise way with no intrusion and the mid instrumental is a fine example of the clarity and power on offer here. The sax solo is spectacular! The remainder is faultless and Mint- is an fair assessment of the audio.
'One Slip' plays very clearly from the outset with barely any static on the intro and as the music builds into the first verse the audio is 'as new'. It then plays with that familiar depth and clarity you only get from a well preserved vinyl. It continues to play with wonderful quality with not so much as a dust tick. Mint- overall.
The intro on 'On The Turning Away' has only very minimal light static, certainly no more than you would expect. The first verse plays with great clarity with only a handful of dust ticks. The second and third verse play to perfection and the quiet mid section has no interference, just a smattering of barely audible dust ticks. The final verse is 'as new' and Gilmour's classic solo then plays with breathtaking quality and for once there is no distortion. It truly is a stunning finale to this emotive track. I would grade the intro as Ex+ and then Mint from that point on.

The intro on 'Yet Another Movie' is another that is affected by static but it does not last long and only a few seconds are a little intrusive. Once the music begins the audio is close to perfect and indeed the first verse is exactly that. From then it plays so well and I detected only one tick. The mid instrumental is so deep and powerful - turn it loud you will know exactly what I mean! It then plays with superb clarity and depth - the intro is VG+ and then Near Mint although the 'Round And Round' closing section grades as Ex- as there is just a little static.
'A New Machine Part 1' has some static which is again common for this track. A little louder for 3/4 seconds but overall I think VG+ is about right.
'Terminal Frost' has a clarity of sound that is very impressive from the get go. There is hardly any static on the intro and from then it plays with a great power and definition and the classic mid section is STUNNING in every way! It build to a wonderful crescendo and there is no sign of any distortion. Wow! The rest of this classic instrumental also plays to an exemplary standard and Near Mint is deserved, just a minimal hint of static right at the end.
'A New Machine Part 2' plays with great clarity and only the bare minimum of static. Ex+
'Sorrow' has very little static on the intro and just the one light click. It then plays with stunning clarity and depth and with that typical deep sound. Each verse plays with sublime precision and there is no intrusion on the audio whatsoever. Another case where the intro is Ex+ but thereafter is Mint- without a doubt.
In summary this first pressing to an excellent standard overall and I would say the vast majority is Near Mint. S1 in particular is superb with only the usual static at the start. S2 has a little more static in a couple of sections which is common but the majority does play very well indeed. To be honest I have never found a NM/M copy of this record - this is late 80s vinyl after all!
The Gatefold & Inner Sleeve
The cover is in lovely condition with only minimal shelf wear. The edges have very little 'rubbing' - just a little more bottom right next to the corners. The wide spine is in superb order and all corners are also very 'clean' with very little wear. The opening edge has only a small amount of handling wear. The front cover is perfect with no marking and the back cover is also very impressive with just a couple of small faint scratch lines. The inside of the gatefold is immaculate. A fine example overall when you consider how many of these are found in poor condition today.
The lyric inner is near perfect with just a very faint ripple effect that you only notice if you hold it at a certain angle.
Play tested on my Pro-Ject Essential III Turntable // B & W 684 Speakers
This record has been professionally cleaned on a Pro-Ject VC-S machine
