Description

Pink Floyd, A Nice Pair

Pink Floyd, A Nice Pair.

A re-release of The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn (1967) and A Saucerful Of Secrets (1968) with a new outer sleeve. The picture inner sleeves retain the artwork of the original releases.

Not the first pressing with the withdrawn Phang sleeve but an early issue retaining "The Gramophone Company..." label text. 1/2/1/3 matrix suffixes.

An overall conservative VG. The discs show a few marks and light scratches but nothing nasty. Piper actually plays near EX. Occasional low level crackle at separators but very rarely so during actual tracks which all play cleanly.

Saucerful play grades nearer VG plus. Just enough crackle, and one or two very soft isolated ticks, to prevent a higher grade. However, that said, background noise is never obtrusive and is infrequent. This is still an enjoyable listen.

The picture inner sleeves have overall creasing and small centre seam split to both bottoms and one side. A small tear with associated creasing to the top of the green inner sleeve.

External sleeve also has some overall creasing. I suspect the sleeves suffered water damage at one time. However the creasing is not pronounced and there is no tide marking or nasty aroma. There is just a light tide mark to the inner recess of the inner of the main sleeve. Else outer VG with some tanning and smudging here and there. A small closed tear to rear entry side. Light storage rubbing. Else wear is fairly light.
