So, after five decades of collecting vinyl and Hi-Fi, the time has finally come to downsize. Over the next few months, with great reluctance, I will be gradually selling off my treasured collection of records, cds and hi-fi equipment. It will take a while !!! For sale by no-reserve auction is a superb condition copy of a first pressing of 'A SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS' - the second album from 1968 by PINK FLOYD. It is on the Colombia label and has the catalogue number SCX 6258 indicating that it is the stereo version. It is a first pressing with :
the matrix numbers YAX 3633-1 and YAX 3634-1 in the run-out grooves the blue Colombia on the black and silver labels 'Sold In The UK' and the embossed KTJ tax code on the labels The misspelling of Dave Gilmour's name as 'Gilmore' File Under Popular : Pop Groups on the rear upper right corner of the sleeve.
The overall condition of both the sleeve and vinyl is at least excellent. It looks like it has hardly been played and would be a superb addition to any record collection. The sleeve is in at least excellent condition with hardly any marks or wear at all. However, there are a couple of light creases which you might be able to see in the photos, a tiny bit of wear on the corners and a tiny bit of wear near the middle of the opening edge. No writing or other marks. The spine is amazingly sharp, clear and fully readable and the original company inner sleeve is also in excellent condition. Please study all the photos to see the condition for yourself. The labels are in excellent condition with hardly any 'spindle trails' indicating that the record has hardly been played. The record is also in really excellent condition with just a few light surface marks from the paper inner sleeve. It plays superbly in high quality with only occasional light surface noise and an occasional 'pop'. However, there are a few annoying clicks during the very last part of Jugband Blues but they are far and away the worst bits of noise on the album. Even with those clicks, I honestly think you would be hard-pressed to find a better example of this incredible album. I am very open to sensible offers so please get in touch if you would like to make one. The album will be wrapped in bubblewrap before posting to ensure that it does not get damaged on its journey. I will dispatch it in a proper record mailer and will post within one working day of purchase by Special Delivery post so that it gets on its way to you as soon as possible. Although expensive, it does guarantee next-day delivery before 1pm and, most importantly, fully insures the record which is safer for you and for me.
