EMI Columbia SCX 6258

Classic Brit Psych artifact!


SLEEVE: VERY GOOD Garrod & Lofthouse wraparound sleeve with mis-spelling of Gilmour as ‘Gilmore’. Laminated face intact, still glossy with only light surface scuffs; corners fairly sharp; some light edge creasing to sleeve opening, minor unnoticeable clean tear to face (just reaches laminate), this is approx 1cm visible to rear opening edge, halfway between ‘Produced by Norman Smith’ and ‘Sleeve Design and Photos by HIPGNOSIS’. Rear is clean sharp, a little worn and marked to edges of laminate; no writing.

DISC: GOOD+ Blue/ black Columbia labels with mis-spelling of Gilmour as ‘Gilmore’; stamper codes: YAX 3633-1 / YAX 3634-1 .  Does not have original company inner sleeve. Labels have spindle marks from regular enjoyment; a few surface marks from period abuse, they look a lot worse than they sound. Overall, there is some mild fizzy/ surface noise, but no major crackles or pops, does not detract from listening at volume.  I have auditioned this on two different decks and note the following:
Side One: some extra surface noise in part of track 2; intro to track 3 has some extra surface noise, plus a few mild pops later.
Side Two: some extra surface noise in quieter sections of track1; some light crackles in parts of track 2.

All descriptions offered in good faith, grading based on Record Collector guidelines to best of my ability, please bear in mind this is a BRILLIANT album which has been well played .. in the fab 60s!
