For sale here is a quite simply superb copy of Pink Floyds iconic 1973 LP "Dark side of the moon".
This album is simply outstanding in every possible way. Once in a while a very special LP comes up for sale. This is such an album. Probably plays as good as it did, new, well over 50 years ago.  Included in this sale is an official programme from the Earls Court concerts in May of 1973. All proceeds from the two concerts went to the "SHELTER" charity, in aid of homeless people. The programme is in excellent condition.
No reams of pointless waffle here then. This is about the facts. Those facts are listed below. Please note:-
Pink Floyds "Dark side of the moon". 1st UK pressing. A2 & B2 matrices. Stampers are GAA & GAR Midnight blue cover is a strong excellent. Black inner sleeve is a strong very good plus. Postcard/stickers are a strong excellent. Original posters are a strong very good plus. Vinyl surfaces are excellent plus. Playback is extraordinarily good and grades a very strong excellent plus. (please note, I do not grade used vinyl any higher than this, Mint or near mint is a brand new copy as far as my gradings are concerned).

I have been lucky enough to own over 25 copies of the solid blue triangle A2 B2 issues. This copy has a sound quality right up there as definitely the very best of any of them. The detail is outstanding. The clarity is beyond belief. The whole album is pretty close to perfect, with only one extremely minor comment, some barely audible light background to the heartbeat run-in. I will describe each element in a little more detail below.
THE COVER:                      The cover is in a really nice preserved condition. Midnight blue in colour, totally different to the later black issues. An extremely solid example with very little (very), if any, shelf-wear. Spine is great. No creasing. No ring-wear. There is just a tiny bit of colour fade in a couple of spots. All clearly visible in my photos. This is a cracker and grades a very solid Ex.
THE INNER SLEEVE:                                    Correct black poly-lined inner, showing the patent numbers and made in Great Britain text in grey font. Super clean example. Has very light creasing to one corner only. A slit from the disc edges is just starting to form on two edges. A really nice one this with lining fully attached. Comfortably graded as at least VG+.
THE VINYL (VISUAL):                                     In normal daylight and angled viewing, there are NO marks of note. As clean as a whistle. In strong electric light there are the usual wispy sleeve removal hairlines. The labels show a handful of spindle marks to each side. This has seen very little play in its long life and always played on quality hi-fi separates. Vinyl grades visually as Ex+, labels Ex.
THE VINYL (PLAY-GRADE):                                               Sound quality of the very highest order. I am taking comments straight from my play-grading notebook here. SIDE ONE. Vinyl is perfectly flat to the platter. Weight is 145 grams. Near silent leading into the heartbeat on track 1. Tracks 2 and 3 plays perfectly. The segue between tracks 3 and 4 into "Time" plays silently. Tracks 4 and 5 play perfectly. Bass lines grunt, sax is so alive you can actually detect the reed. A stunning presentation of the highest order. SIDE TWO. Starts with silence which carries on through the whole side. I made no comments regarding issues of any kind. This has to sound close to a new album. as a grading, If you can find a better sounding copy, BUY IT! The whole album plays through superbly. The sound quality throughout is powerful, detailed and dynamic. Instruments and vocals are crystal clear. A beautiful beautiful copy indeed. As a grade, side 1 is Ex+. Side 2 is a solid Ex+.
POSTERS AND STICKERS:                                               Both posters and stickers are present and are original to this album, not switched from later copies. These are the very first generation issue. Printed on fully matte heavyweight paper. These fully matte issues were soon replaced by a semi matte paper, before being replaced again by glossy paper. These are the very earliest printed. The band poster is in great shape for its age. The blue pyramid poster has, in a previous life, been stuck to a wall and exhibits a neat line of tape residue and a pin hole to each corner. A shame, but acceptable due to the rarity of the matte paper version. Band poster grades near Ex. Pyramid poster grades VG+ The stickers are in excellent condition. This album must have been produced around the time the printers changed. One sticker is the earliest showing the word "PERMANENT" in red font to the reverse side. The other has the slightly later brown diagonal stripes to the reverse face. Both stickers grade as Ex.
This is a top top copy of this classic, iconic and highly collectable record. This would grace any collection and I highly recommend it to even the most discerning of buyers. Very hard, probably impossible, to find better.

I also dress all my albums in a brand new heavyweight plastic cover and a brand new anti-static inner sleeve. All vinyl is packed outside of the cover and at least 2 stiffeners are used in transit.
