Description

This first press of Animals is in excellent condition for 37 years old.  The vinyl only has a few very faint hairlines but you do have to look under a bright light very hard to find them!  Due mainly  to sleeve removal I would say.  It really is in fabulous condition especially for a first press, uncommon to find one so good.
  Released on the Harvest label in 1977 (SHVL 815) 
The matrix numbers are A2/B2 and stampers D / GDL and 2 / GDD
The original Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold sleeve is in excellent condition.  There is slight rubbing at the top and bottom of the spine and a couple of small creases at the the top of the sleeve but still has a strong wide spine that is 100% legible.  There are also a couple of small scratches on the reverse of the cover towards the bottom.  Overall though this is a very clean copy of this gatefold and is one of the better ones I have seen.  

Side One I would grade as Ex++
Side Two is Ex+
The gatefold cover is Ex
The lyric inner is Ex++ (very light creasing)
The labels are Near Mint
