Pink Floyd : Atom Soundtrack from the film 'More' 1G /1G 1st Press Green Tinted Cover (West Facing)
The audio on this third stereo pressing is superb! Aside from a little interference on the final track the audio can hardly be faulted. The title track is one of the finest versions I have ever heard, the clarity is exceptional, and the first three tracks on S2 also play to an immaculate 'as new' standard. The vinyl is visually stunning and has hardly been played, if ever!
This pressing was 'cut' by the world renown Harry T. Moss and his vinyls are always very collectable. On a well preserved vinyl the sonic quality is infinitely more impressive and that is very much in evidence here.
The gatefold is also in beautiful condition with no obvious shelf wear at all.

Play grading
The quiet intro on 'Atom Heart Mother' is so 'clean' with barely any static and from that point on? Well...it is obvious this record has hardly ever been on a turntable if ever! The clarity and definition is quite simply out of this world! I have listened to it in its entirety and there is hardly any intrusion on the audio. In a sense this is what you would expect on a beautifully preserved vinyl that was 'cut' by Harry T. Moss. The depth and warmth on HTM's vinyls is legendary and nowhere is it more in abundance than here. Of course there are so many quiet sections and yet they all play so well and are practically 'as new'. The depth and power on the brass sections and the clarity during the choral sections is just sublime. I'm sorry if I am being somewhat over enthusiastic but when you find audio such as this it's impossible not to be! Now admittedly I did hear a couple of static clicks after 17 minutes but perhaps after 2/3 listens they would disappear, there is nothing visible on the vinyl to suggest a cause. The super quiet section on the 18 minute mark is just incredible, I've never heard clarity like it, and the remainder does not disappoint either. The violin 'recital' is a case in point - pure Mint audio and the end choral/brass section also plays with stunning power and precision. This classic version deserves a Near Mint grade in my educated opinion. Yes there are the two static clicks but the majority plays to a Mint standard and that is no exaggeration.

'If' on S2 if anything plays even better and it's rare for this track to play with such clarity. So often the opening grooves have a fair amount of static/crackle but that is certainly not the case here. The audio from start to finish is so 'clean' and this truly is a stunning version. Mint-
With complete silence in the dead wax the piano intro on 'Summer '68' is nigh on perfect with only a couple of mega light ticks. The first verse is equally as good and the first chorus is 'as new' basically. Honestly the clarity here is again jaw-droppingly amazing! It continues to play with exceptional warmth and depth and to the end there is nothing to fault. I have no hesitation in grading this as Mint- again. A STUNNING version!
The bell 'toll' intro on 'Fat Old Sun' can be heard with perfect clarity and the first vocal is equal to that with no interference. From that point on it plays as you would expect an 'unplayed' vinyl to play and Gilmour's long solo is just sublime. Once again there is no 'background' on the 'tolling' at the end. This is the finest version I have heard and Mint definitely does it justice.
'Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast' plays with great quality for the vast majority. There is 3/4 seconds of very light static about one minute in but it is so quiet and very much in the background. Plus during the first quieter passage there are a few light ticks but in no way are they loud. From then on it plays extremely well with just one click. Aside from that the clarity could not really be any better and the final half of this 'instrumental' is stunning. An Ex+ grade is about right overall.
In summary this later pressing is worth it alone for the title track! It is rare to find it playing with such quality and has clearly hardly ever seen a turntable! S2 is nigh on perfect apart from a little interference on '...Breakfast' but the three other tracks have breathtaking 'as new' audio to say the least! A fine example overall plus a super clean vinyl.
Visual grading
This vinyl is in lovely condition with an immaculate glossy sheen and has hardly been played. I cannot detect any spindle wear and the grooves are so incredibly clean. There are no scratches or hairlines and the only 'mark' is two tiny specks on S2 that are very hard to find! The run out grooves are also 'as new' with no marking.
The Gatefold
The cover is near perfect with only a very tiny crease by the bottom right corner. The edges and spine have no shelf wear, the opening edge is untouched and there is barely any corner wear. The front and back cover are immaculate as is the inside and all in all it would be very difficult to find better! A superbly preserved example.
The Inner Sleeve
The original die-cut EMI inner is in great condition with no side splits or marking and only a minimal amount of light creasing.
The Labels
The yellow/green Harvest have lost none of their original colour and have no marking or any spindle wear. It still says 'The Pink Floyd' on both.
