When this album was first previewed live some music critics thought that by experimenting with orchestrated art-rock Pink Floyd had strayed too far from the whacky psyched-out Syd Barrett days. As a result this album became more famous for the picture of the cow on the cover. Everybody knew about it, it was in every vinyl collection, but few dared listen. Now of course it marks an important developmental stage in the back catalogue of one of the most successful bands of all time. The only real problem is that you have to wait 10 minutes and 48 seconds before you hear a bloody guitar!

Condition of vinyl - There are no marks, and the vinyl retains its original shine. There is a little faint 'feathering' for about the first 10 seconds of Side 1, otherwise it plays perfectly. Excellent condition.
Condition of Sleeves - The gatefold sleeve is clean, unmarked and with no tears. The inner sleeve is a standard EMI sleeve of the time, advertising other releases on the label. It is clean, with no marks or tears. Altogether Excellent.
Overall this is an opportunity to buy a very rare record in Excellent condition. This is a pre-EMI yellow and green format (no boxed EMI logo, and "The Gramophone Co Ltd" printed around the rim).
Condition is calculated in accordance with the grading system in the Record Collector Rare Record Price Guide:-
Excellent - The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
Very Good - The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
Good - The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration etc.
All records I sell are from my own collection built up over many years, and always cared for. I don't claim to sell any in mint condition (as they have all been played), and would not sell any in less than Good condition.
Records will be posted in purpose-made cardboard sleeve with stiffener where necessary.
