PINK FLOYD - ATOM HEART MOTHER
Increasingly hard to find and overall very nice condition 1971 UK very 1st press Floyd prog gem
Year/Label : 1971 UK HARVEST Label number : SHVL 781 Matrix numbers : SHVL 781 A - 1G, SHVL 781 B - 1G Stampers : 12 RA / 2 MH (difficult to make out)Very good plus (VG+) condition vinyl - completely flat, weighty and retaining a beautiful jet black lacquered sheen, coming across as virtuallyunmarked in normal daylight. With close inspection under a a few extremely faint paper scuff lines comes into view on both sides along with the occasional very wispy hairline. On side 2 there are three slightly more obvious wispy hairlines (not obvious and non-feelable) which do result in some light clicking on "Fat old Sun" and at the very end of side 2...not especially intrusive and certainly not nasty, but light clicking nonetheless and just audible. A more accurate grading of the vinyl is "excellent" for side 1 and a solid "very good" for side 2. The labels are in excellent (EX) condition also - there are some faint spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each label bu tapart from that perfect. Note the absence on the labels of the "EMI" box, indicative of a very 1st UK pressing (along with the "1G/1G" stampers). Truly excellent (EX) condition non-laminated iconic Garrod & Lofthouse outer gatefold sleeve with firm and completely unscuffed edges, a rigid spine with all spine text remaining perfectly intact, nicely defined right angled corners with absolutely minimal rubbing on each, firm opening edges with no fraying, and all photos, text, and beautiful art work remaining vibrant, crisp, and wonderfully defined. The only blemishes (each trivial) are a non-obvious 11cm cardboard crease in the bottom right corner which is present on both the front and reverse side, just the merest hint of some very faint ring wear on the reverse side adjacent to the spine, and a few (3 or 4) small and very light surface storage/handling marks - nothing really. This iconic 70's gatefold sleeve remains fully functional and eminently presentable and hard to believe that it is now 54 years of age! Very good plus (VG+) sound quality with no sticks, skips, repeats, distortion or background crackle - wonderful tone and crystal clear stereo reproduction with brilliant stereo sound quality. Again, to be precise, side 1 sound quality is terrific, excellent plus from start to finish; side 2 is a solid very good and the reason for that is the aforementioned very light (but audible) rotational clicking during most of "Fat Old Sun" and some further very light clicking for 50 seconds at the very end of side 2. Comes with original and great condition EMI/Harvest poly-lined advertising inner sleeve with no side splits and just some very minor creasing and a little age discolouration towards the edges. Note that I always ship the vinyl in a new plain white inner sleeve in order to protect the original. Apart from the side 2 light rotational clicking an overall excellent condition copy of this 1971 UK 1st press Pink Floyd classic, increasingly hard to come by now.

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
