Description

This is a first pressing of Pink Floyd's Atom Heart Mother; released in Oct 1970. Green Harvest label SHVL 781. UK Pressing. Matrix number SHVL 781 - A -1G/ B -1G. This is a guaranteed first pressing features "The gramophone co. Ltd" on the outer rim of the label and it doesn't have the EMI logo on the label. All later pressings had the logo and EMI records on the rim.

The record is very heavy and has its original gloss, it's only been played a couple of times. The grooves looks very clear and sharp and there are no surface marks, the record plays without any pops, clicks or jumps. I suspect most people would call this MINT.

Another difference that distinguishes this from 2nd pressings is that it has the sound of a tap dripping on the run out grooves on side 2, if you don't have a return arm on your deck the drip will run continuously. This ONLY appears on 1st pressings.

The labels are in near mint condition; there's just a few marks made by the record deck spindle. Check out the photos, and you'll see for yourself that this is an album that has been cherished and barely touched. It still has the original EMI inner sleeve with pictures of their current releases from 1970 and still has its original poly liner.

The sleeve is in pristine condition, it's gatefold and doesn't really show any significant signs of wear, given its age. The corners are square and not crushed or distorted, the spine is free of creases or cracking. The colour of the photography has been maintained perfectly, without any discolouration or fading. The record has been kept in a heavy plastic protective sleeve since its original purchase.
