Description
The Dark Side of the Moon A2 / B2 (First Pressing - Solid Blue Triangle)
This rare first pressing of this iconic LP has seen better days so is more of a collection filler than anything else. Sadly there are no posters or stickers with this edition.

The audio on Side One is VG-
The audio on Side Two is VG+ (The intro on 'Money' is only G+)
The gatefold cover is VG+
The S1 label is VG+ and the S2 label is Ex+ Visual grading
Side One has many fine hairlines and a few scuff type marks and a thumbnail type scratch on track one. However, that is the only real scratch to be honest. Side Two is clearer but still has a number of hairlines and a few faint marks. There is a lot of spindle wear so it has been played a number of times (quite rightly so!) but a professional clean may perhaps improve the audio quality.
Play grading
Side One does play with considerable crackle and there are a few clicks at the beginning of 'Speak To Me'. There are no jumps but it is definitely not one for the purists! In saying that there are sections where the crackle is not so prevalent and the music plays relatively clearly. Understandably it is the quieter sections where the crackle is more obvious. 'The Great Gig...' is a good example of this.
'Money' on Side Two does start with very loud crackle and it has a number of skips in the first minute which is a well known pressing fault. Not all A2/B2 pressings have this problem but many do, the problem was rectified with the A3/B2 pressings. It is a shame because once the skips have ended the audio plays a lot clearer than Side One. The track then plays with very good audio and excellent clarity with only a couple of clicks. The intro to 'Us And Them' again plays with loud crackle but after a few seconds decreases a lot and actually plays with excellent audio with only faint crackle in the background. The remaining tracks play in much the same way with light crackle although I did hear 3/4 clicks during 'Brain Damage'.
So whilst you can listen to this LP it is best not to bid if you are expecting excellent audio. Yes apart from the 'Money' intro Side Two does play better than Side One but there is still some interference here and there. However, if you are after an acceptable A2/B2 solid blue triangle first press, just to add to the collection, then this may be perfectly adequate for you. At the end of the day the first pressings are still very collectible regardless of the condition in a way.
Gatefold cover
This has a considerable amount of wear to the edges and corners but has no rips or tears. There are also a few faint scratch marks on the front cover, some ringwear and some creases around the edges. However, the inside of the gatefold is relatively clean and only has a little creasing on the top left corner. There are no marks or writing anywhere.
Inner sleeve
This does not have the original sleeve and has been replaced at some point with a white polylined sleeve which is in excellent condition with no splits or tears just some minor creasing.
Labels
The S1 label has faint line type markings on it that may not be picked up on the photos. There is a small piece missing just to the left of the blue triangle. The S2 label is a lot cleaner and only has spindle wear.
