For sale here is a copy of the bands most iconic album, "Dark side of the moon". Released in 1973, this is the genuine UK 2nd pressing with the matrices A3 / B3 and "The Gramophone Co Ltd" text around the rim of the label.  I have been given a huge Pink Floyd collection of over 150 albums plus assorted memorabilia to sell. This is a truly excellent copy and would grace any collection. Due to the fact I have so many albums to list and sell, grading will be visual only. However, I have been collecting vinyl now since the late 60's, so have a pretty good idea of how a vinyl may sound versus how it looks. Please check out my other items for sale. I have some rare and highly collectable Floyd titles coming up as time permits. These will include 1st UK presses of many Floyd titles, including the solid blue triangle A2/B2 (I have 5!) amongst others. If you need a specific album play-grading, please let me know and I shall try to oblige. Anyway, to the main event!
Cover is gatefold style and has no real issues at all. A great cover with very little, if any, wear worthy of mention. There is absolute minimum shelf wear to mention. Edges and spine are great. Being picky, there is a light crease to one corner. A really clean and solid example and easily grades as excellent.
Inner sleeve is white generic. Has the patent number and made in England text, as per correct second issue. Only very lightly discoloured with age with a light crease, but totally solid and grades VG+.

Both posters are in great shape. No pin holes or tape marks at all. These have the odd wrinkle but are in nice undamaged condition. Grade as excellent.
Postcard stickers are the FASPRINT CRACKBACK with brown diagonal lines on the rear. These are both in super condition but both do have a crease from being caught in the hinge of the gatefold cover. Due to these creases I can only grade at VG+.
The vinyl looks really good. A nice depth of glossy shine, with only one mark of note. About the size of a thumb nail is a slightly dull patch, only visible in angled light. It should have no bearing on the sound quality at all, but worth mentioning for total clarity. Aside of this there are only wispy sleeve removal hairlines which were impossible to avoid with a paper inner sleeve. This has sat inside an anti-static inner sleeve for quite some time now. Visually this vinyl grades easily as Ex.

So a 100% genuine 2nd UK pressing. All genuine and original parts. Nothing mixed and matched from later copies. I do accept returns if this is not an accurate description or if it does not play as I believe it will do by my visual assessment.

Postage is Royal Mail 2nd class signed for within the UK.  Bidders from abroad will be delivered through the Ebay "Global shipping programme", which is not cheap, but it covers all import/export paperwork and insurance. By mutual consent with the winning bidder if they do live abroad, I will post with the Royal Mail to save a little on charges. I do not profit on postage as many do, and all packaging (including a new heavy duty polythene cover and anti-static inner sleeve) is free.

Many many sellers on Ebay claim in their listings how rare an album is, even a bog standard copy of this album, however the A3/B3 copy is desirable due to its early pressing and a worthy addition to a collection. Proved to be a genuine 2nd UK pressing due to the "Gramophone Co Ltd" text around the labels. 3rd pressings onwards had text that starts with "EMI".

Just had the huge pleasure of play-grading this album for a potential bidder. sits nice and flat to the platter. Weighs in at 140 grams. Overall it plays as it looks, excellent. Side 1 starts with 3 "pops" before the music starts (stylus landing area probably!).  There are 2 more "pops" during the tricky "Heartbeat" section. Still on side 1, there are 3 soft clicks at the start of "On the run" and one "pop" at the start of "Time". Rest of side plays superbly. Side 2 has a fairly quiet starting 5 seconds before the cash registers kick in. Then the whole side plays superbly again with the exception of 3 soft clicks during "Brain damage". That is it. The album is a lovely example that plays almost without fault. It certainly grades a conservative excellent, and the majority of it plays even better than that. The winning bidder will be extremely pleased I'm sure.
