This is an original 1st UK press from the time of first release. It is not a reissue.
This has the following matrix numbers:
Side one: SHVL 804 A- 2
Side two: SHVL 804 B - 2
Description
Disc: The vinyl has been well-played but plays well. There are various signs of play and small or light marks visible on the playing surfaces in normal light and additional very fine hairlines and sleeve-removal marks when viewed under bright, direct light, but there is nothing bad anywhere. I have played the whole album in full, twice, from start to finish and it plays really well with very little to report. I would say that its play-grade is higher than its visual grade. There is some slight background noise in the run-ins/outs, fades, silent grooves, segues and quietest parts, and the occasional random click, but there is nothing loud or overpowering. The only time I heard anything more was a few soft tics in the fade to 'The Great Gig in the Sky' and a handful of clicks in the intro to 'Money', before the vocal comes in. Please note that this copy does NOT have the pressed skip in 'Money': there are no jumps or skips anywhere on this copy. Much of this plays close to Excellent (Ex), but to take into account the minor issues mentioned above, I would play-grade this as a SAFE Very Good Plus (VG+).
Labels: No tears, stickers, writing etc, but has plenty of spindle marks, suggesting that the record was relatively well-played.
Cover: The cover has a sealed (but not folded) left edge and is very dark blue rather than true black. As this is hard to tell I've shown the comparison with a true black cover in photo 6. The cover has no seam splits but has various signs of age and use, including wear to the edges and corners, small creases etc. Please also note a few areas of surface damage which have been touched-in by the previous owner. I've shown the main ones close-up in the final few photos.
Inner sleeve: Original black poly-lined inner sleeve with patent numbers and 'Made in England' on one side. This inner sleeve is in very nice condition with just one small (less than an inch) side seam split, but no other issues
Posters: The two posters have been on a wall at some point and have pin-holes and sellotape in the corners. I've shown both posters front and back in the photos. (Please note that this copy doesn't have the stickers).

Where gradings are given these are based on the UK Record Collector grading system (see below) and are visual gradings only, unless the listing specifically states that it is a play-grading.
I use the UK RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM. This grading system differs from some other grading systems, in particular the Goldmine grading system. Please make sure that you are familiar with the UK record collector grading system before you bid.
Mint: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
Good: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
Fair: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
Poor: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
Bad: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
Plus (+) or Minus (-) are added where items fall between gradings. I only ever use one plus or minus.
