How can you tell a genuine 1st UK pressing?

Genuine 1st complete UK pressing have the following -  which this one has:

Gatefold Cover: Very dark blue gatefold cover made from thickish cardboard.

Front Cover:  On some (but not all) 1st issues, one side of the gatefold cover is factory-sealed. This one is sealed.

Back Cover: Inverted prism. In the upper right corner, it says: " SHVL 804, (IE 064-05249), stereo."

Inside Cover:  "Printed and made by Garrod and Lofthouse Ltd." in blue text in lower left corner.

Cover Sticker: Some copies had a round title sticker on the cover and some did not. This one did.

Inner Sleeve:  Die cut black inner sleeve with "Made in Great Britain" text and patent no. 1,123,535 in silver at the base of the sleeve.

Pyramid Poster: A six-pane Blue pyramid.  There is no catalog number on the poster.

Group Poster: A six-pane group shot poster in landscape style with "SHVL 804" in the bottom right corner.

Brown graphics sticker: A brown/dark blue/yellow/green self-adhesive sticker with Dark Side of the Moon graphics. Matte. The backing paper is tan with 45 degree angled diagonal stripes of dark brown from the top to bottom, and "FasPrint Permanent," and "Crack Back Patented." on the paper (also found printed on a white backing paper with lighter colors on the front). There is no catalog number on the sticker.

Yellow graphics sticker: A yellow/sky blue/green self-adhesive sticker with Dark Side of the Moon graphics. Matte. The backing paper is tan with 45 degree angled diagonal stripes of dark brown from the top to bottom, and "FasPrint Permanent," and "Crack Back Patented." on the paper (also found printed on a white backing paper with lighter colors on the front). There is no catalog number on the sticker.

Labels: Black Harvest label with solid light blue triangle (prism). At the bottom center of the label it says "Made in GT Britain."

Matrix Numbers: A2/B2 matrix numbers.

Text around the top edge of the label starts at 10 o'clock and says: “The Gramophone Co., Ltd. All rights of the manufacturer and of the owner of the recorded work reserved.

Text around the bottom edge of the label starts at 8 o'clock and says: “Unauthorised public performance, broadcasting, and copying of this record prohibited.

Cover: VG+ to Near Excellent overall. Outside is VG and inside is Excellent. No writings, doodles or seam splits. Light wear to edges/corners/spine, light ringwear and some minor marks here and there.

Labels: Excellent - stylus marks only. No names or stickers.

Black poly-lined Inner Sleeve with silver text: The poly lining has come loose and a small tear by the die cut. Rates as VG+

Posters: 2 x 1st pressing posters - 'pyramids' and 'Pink Floyd'. Mint.

Postcards: 2 x peelable sticky-back postcards - 'yellow' & 'blue' pyramids with the tell-tale 1st pressing brown stripes on the back. Both remain unused and are Near Mint.

Vinyl: Play tested. Looks Fair to Good with a couple of ugly marks and very slight edge warp but plays better than it looks. No skips/jumps on my system. If you want top quality audio this is not for you. It is listenable if you do not mind a lot of crackle/clicks. Low starting price for this rarity to take into account the quality of playback....

"Speak to Me" has a continuous click throughout and is Good(-) only.

"Breathe" is Good(+) to VG(-) with some crackle/clicks.

"On the Run" is Good(+) to VG(-) with crackle.

"Time" is Good(+) to VG(-) with crackle.

"Great Gig in the Sky" is Good(+) to VG(-) with crackle/pops.

"Money" sounds great VG(+) with just some lighter crackle and a few clicks.

"Us & Them" has crackle and some pops VG(-).

"Any Colour You Like" and "Brain Damage"  both have an almost continuous click Good(-) only).

"Eclipse" has partial clicking Good(+).

Gradings.......

Mint - The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality.

Excellent - The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality.

Very Good - The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and occasional light scratches.

Good - The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and more significant scratches.

Fair - The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise, it may even jump.

Poor - The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc

Bad - The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
