IDEAS FOR THIS ALBUM WERE FIRST CONCEIVED BACK IN 1971, FIRST RELEASED IN 1973, AND ORIGINALLY TO BE TITLED ECLIPSE, QUITE SIMPLY A MASTERPIECE. AN AMAZING ALBUM WHICH HAS REACHED LEGENDARY STATUS
Side 1 : Speak To Me; Breathe; On The Run; Time; The Great Gig In The Sky.
Side 2 : Money; Us And Them; Any Colour You Like; Brain Damage; Eclipse.
A Truly Outstanding Masterpiece of an Album from possibly the greatest band ever to emerge from the sixties, the PINK FLOYD with the Legendary Waters, Wright, Mason and Gilmore. First Recorded in 1973 and Released later the same year, this Album has been proclaimed their greatest ever, and an album that proved the Floyd were a major contributer to the Britsh Progresseive scene. An oustanding Progressive/ Psych Album, full of mind blowing enthusiasm launching the Album with Side 1, Track 1, into the magnificent "Breathe".
The record is in excellent condition throughout. The labels are excellent, very clean and show only very minimal signs of any spindle marking.
The Vinyl is very clean and typical of the sturdy Harvest Vinyl of the early seventies, most copies of this album you will find to be the flimsy, economy vinyl later issues with the knife edge rims. This, however, is typical of the very early issues, nice and thick reasonably heavy duty vinyl with a thick edge and in excellent condition. The vinyl surface of the record is excellent, free from all but the very slightest of very light surface marks, noticable only under very strong light. the record has a very slight dished appearance when laid flat, probably due to storage. The record plays excellent, only the very slightest of background hiss/crackle is detectable, noticable mainly to lead ins where needle has dropped, and on quieter sections, which is only to be expected as record has been played, overall an excellent example and this is the very rare and most sought after issue, the solid blue triangle label pressing. The Vinyl is a rich dark black and has a nice high gloss sheen.
A truly Excellent example of Pink Floyd DSOM Album and an original rare first pressing TOTALLY COMPLETE with the FULL SET OF TWO POSTERS AND ALL 3 STICKERS and already a collectors classic.
The Dull Matt Blue/Black Gatefold Garrod and Lofthouse sleeve is in excellent condition. It is the very first issue gatefold sleeve. There are No tears, No creases, No writing, No unwanted stickers, marks from stickers or splits or rips on the sleeve. No edge wear and No storage or surface wear. The corners are excellent and the spine is rigid and intact and free of wear, some very slight edge wear to bottom corner, but on closer inspection is probablly due to the construction of the sleeve leavind an exposed edge, nothing serious. The opening edges of record pocket are very sharp and free from of creases. The sealed edge of the sleeve is flip back and therefore has a full cover seam and not exposed cut edge. This was only on the very first pressing issues. The inner gatefold is extremely clean and there are no signs of any wear or staining, totally free from grubby marks writing, tears and rips. Excellent original example of record and sleeve that benefits from being totally original and complete.
Record comes complete with the very rare first pressings original Black InnerPoly Lined Paper Sleeve.
The album comes complete the two original posters which are in very good condition, the blue pyramid poster has and the Pink Floyd Poster, Both are still intact and in excellent condition, They have not been pinned or taped to walls, no tears, blutack, sticky tape or missing corners, totally original.
Both original Pink Floyd stickers are intact and have never been used and still have the split peel-off "Crack Back" and are identical in text and colour, made by FasPrint. Never been used, excellent Condition. The third and very RARE sticker which makes the set complete is the circular PF TDSOTM Sticker which is on the sleeve.
