Another from my personal collection of over 50,000 album that I have aquired over a period of more than 45 years! An awesome original very earliest 'Pink Floyd' 'The Dark Side Of The Moon originally released in 1973, This would be a mid seventies UK pressing, rare to find in this totaly complete.
The most important thing about this copy is the absolutely stunning audio quality and feel. This copy is up there as one of the best sounding copies of this album that I have heard!
Purchased from new over 40 years ago. Initially only ever played this to record to tape and then stored in a case with the vinyl seperated from the sleeve and cover for protection. This is how I have always stored my records! Superbe crystal clear and vibrant very near as mint audio quality very, very hard to find like this. Note: I find it hard to see any spider traces around the spindle hole. A beautiful sounding copy! One of the best sounding copies of this album that I have ever heard. This is complete with the original UK printed Garrod & Lofthouse Printed gate fold cover in straight condition also. Normally this album is found in a terrible state looking very worn, but this cover is strong and straight with light storageware in the form of rubbibg wear and minor creases to mention. The vinyl looks barely ever played at all, certainly not over played, or more to the point the vinyl sometimes look near perfect only to find that the play reveals horrible static ticks and crackle which is so common on this album haveing so many slow and quiet places! This vinyl has barely ever been played at all in my opinion.
What is truly exceptional is the awesome audio quality, rare like this a beauty!

Your browser does not support the audio element.The Dark Side of the Moon is the eighth album by English rock band Pink Floyd, released on 1 March 1973 by Harvest Records.
The album built on ideas explored in earlier recordings and live shows, but lacks the extended instrumental excursions following the departure of founding member and principal contributor, Syd Barrett, in 1968, that characterised their earlier work.
It thematically explores conflict, greed, the passage of time, and mental illness, the latter partly inspired by Barrett's deteriorating mental state.
Developed during live performances, an early version was premiered several months before recording began; new material was recorded in two sessions in 1972 and 1973 at Abbey Road in London.
The group used some advanced recording techniques at the time, including multitrack recording and tape loops.
Analogue synthesizers were prominent in several tracks, and snippets from recorded interviews with Pink Floyd's road crew and others provided philosophical quotations throughout. Engineer Alan Parsons was responsible for many distinctively notable sonic aspects and the recruitment of singer Clare Torry.
The album's iconic sleeve, designed by Storm Thorgerson, depicts a prism spectrum and represents the band's lighting, the record's thematic material, and keyboardist Richard Wright's "simple and bold" design request.
The album was an immediate commercial and critical success; it topped the Billboard Top LPs & Tapes chart for a week and remained in the chart for 741 weeks from 1973 to 1988. With an estimated 45 million copies sold, it is Pink Floyd's most commercially successful album and one of the best-selling worldwide. It has been remastered and re-released twice, and covered in its entirety by several other acts. It produced two singles, "Money" and "Us and Them", and is the band's most popular album among fans and critics, being ranked as one of the greatest albums of all time.
Following Meddle in 1971, Pink Floyd assembled for an upcoming tour of Britain, Japan and the United States in December of that year. Rehearsing in Broadhurst Gardens in London, there was the looming prospect of a new album, although their priority at that time was the creation of new material. In a band meeting at drummer Nick Mason's home in Camden, bassist Roger Waters proposed that a new album could form part of the tour. Waters' idea was for an album that dealt with things that "make people mad", focusing on the pressures faced by the band during their arduous lifestyle, and dealing with the apparent mental problems suffered by former band member Syd Barrett.
Generally, all four members agreed that Waters' album concept unified by a single theme was a good idea. Waters, Gilmour, Mason and keyboardist Richard Wright participated in the writing and production of the new material, and Waters created the early demo tracks at his Islington home in a small studio built in his garden shed.
Parts of the new album were taken from previously unused material; the opening line of "Breathe" came from an earlier work by Waters and Ron Geesin, written for the soundtrack of The Body, and the basic structure of "Us and Them" borrowed from an original composition by Wright for Zabriskie Point. The band rehearsed at a warehouse in London owned by The Rolling Stones, and then at the Rainbow Theatre.
They also purchased extra equipment, which included new speakers, a PA system, a 28-track mixing desk with four quadraphonic outputs, and a custom-built lighting rig. Nine tonnes of kit was transported in three lorries; this would be the first time the band had taken an entire album on tour, but allowed improvement and refinery nonetheless, which by then had been given the provisional title of Dark Side of the Moon (an allusion to lunacy, rather than astronomy). However, after discovering that that title had already been used by another band, Medicine Head, it was temporarily changed to Eclipse. The new material premièred at The Dome in Brighton, on 20 January 1972, and after the commercial failure of Medicine Head's album the title was changed back to the band's original preference.

The vinyl
On initial inspection it is hard to see a blemish at all, this looks as new in my opinion and gleems still retaining its sheen from new, This has only ever been played barely a few times only in my opinion. The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable and is free from any warping.
Even in strong light this looks awesome, Please note most of the vinyls storage life it has been in a seperate poly sleeve to minimise any sleeve removal marks\scuffs. Any marks that could possibly ever be seen under a strong light would only be just light wyspy scuffs/sleeve removal.
The Audio Quality
Any who know this album would appreciate that there are many quiet slow parts and this audio is absolutely exceptional cristal clear and vibrant through out with (no) loud constant clicks or pops and certainly no skips or jumps! More importantly (no) distortion or any signs that this has been overplayed ,infact this has barely been played at all! (Note: Please allow for isolated static type tick,ticks heard during some intros and in quieter places worth to mention.) Cristal clear and very vibrant audio original UK press!

Please note! This vinyl has been stored in a case laying dormant for many years, A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves causes static crackle\ticks!,,A constant clean before each play is recomended! This will reduce any static and will enhance the audio quality!

Amazingly I find it hard to see any spider traces, If there are any, these can only be seen looked at an angled in strong light ! Little if no spindle wear the spindle hole is perfectly round with absolutely no ware at all that I can see! All indications are that this has just had very,very minimal play, barely a handful of plays by me only.
The record sleeve
This is plain white paper sleeve. light creasing/staining marks with age only.Note: the record is now always stored seperately from the sleeve and cover. This is how I have always stored my records.
The cover
This is the original 1st issue, 1st UK Press unlaminated Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold cover in exceptional condition throughout. Being primarily black in color , these are almost impossible to keep in perfect condition. Any storage wear noticed only if looked for only in my opinion in the form of light surface rubbing wear. Light bumping at the front top right hand side edge corner to mention. Amazingly no real nasty creases to mention. (Light crease noted on the front but you have to look to notice in my opinion. Any other creases worth to mention are very light indeed. The spine is square and all writing is readable. light rubbing only. Any other marks/indents, again only noticed if looked for in my opinion. Graded at excellent in my opinion!
