Delicate Sound Of Thunder A/B1/A2/B2 (1st Press)

This is a final upgrade, archive copy of this classic album.  The audio is immaculate and the gatefold is in near pristine condition.  The previous owner assured me it had only been played the once and he wasn't even certain if all sides were played!  There is no spindle wear on S2,3 or 4 and minimal traces on S1.

They are both in wonderful condition and I can only detect a tiny amount of spindle wear on the S1 label.  With only a minor amount of 'hazing' they are visually stunning and only have a handful of very faint hairlines no doubt caused by sleeve removal.  There is a slightly more obvious one on S3 (it is not a scratch!) and has no affect on the Mint audio.  I have never seen better and they retain a lovely glossy sheen and are in near pristine condition.  The labels and run out grooves are super clean and you would think the vinyls were new at first glance they look that good.

Play grading  

With no lead in static S1 plays with stunning power and clarity and without doubt deserves a Mint grading.  This is one of the best produced 'live' albums in my opinion and you really feel like you are there if you shut your eyes!  With only a minimal number of mega light dust ticks after the first guitar section 'Shine On...' is just immaculate.  This incredible audio continues and even the fade out at the end plays perfectly.

What can I say about 'Sorrow' on S2?  Stunning, astounding, breathtaking?  All of the above!  S2 has the same quality as S1 and whilst there is a minor touch of background static on the intro to 'On The Turning Away' it then plays with the most impressive audio you have heard on this live album.  The solo at the end is just spellbinding and again is simply the best version I have ever heard.  No distortion, the depth and strong bass also are absolutely stunning.  I'm running out of superlatives here! 

'One Of These Days' has some static at the start and then plays with 'high end' audio again.  There is no need to detail each track on S3 as suffice to say they play as new.  'Time' and 'Money' display audio of the highest standard and again are the best versions I have ever heard from this live album.

'Wish You Were Here' on S4 does have a little more static on the intro but, I hasten to add, it is still very much in the background and non intrusive.  Shock horror ! I also heard one faint click soon after the vocal starts but thereafter it plays superbly well and with no other interference and it remains a fabulous listen.  'Comfortably Numb' not surprisingly has a dynamic power and range that is second to none.  Needless to say the guitar solo is just stunning.  Wow!  Mint without doubt.  The final track 'Run Like Hell' again plays as Mint and is a great end to a great live album.

In summary this first pressing is a an archive, museum copy for certain.  I have never heard one play with such dynamic power and depth and I would say 99% of it plays as Mint and the remaining 1% is Ex+ to Near Mint!

Cover

The gatefold is in superb condition with hardly any shelf wear.  It retains that glossy look as when first released and the edges are practically as new and have only two minor rub marks.  The wide spine is in perfect condition.  This is easily the best version of this gatefold I have ever seen and even the corners have barely any wear.  The front cover is extremely clean aside from a couple of faint scratch type marks at the top that can only be seen under a certain light.  The back cover and inside are immaculate and are as new.  The opening edges are also untouched and in perfect shape.  For the sake of completeness I will mention that there is some writing on the inside of the back cover under the opening edge.  However, this is without doubt a final upgrade cover if ever there was one.  Stunning.

They are in perfect condition with no splits, tears or creasing.  They are like new.

The labels

With hardly any spindle wear they are mega clean with no marking etc.
