PINK FLOYD - THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON
1973 UK 2nd pressing complete with unused posters and stickers, and terrific stereo sound quality throughout
Year/Label : 1973 UK HARVEST Label number : SHVL 804 Matrix numbers : SHVL 804 A-3, SHVL 804 B-3 Stampers : RGR 5 / 1 GLExcellent plus (EX+) condition vinyl - completely flat and retaining a beautiful jet black lacquered sheen, coming across as unmarked in normal daylight and it is only with close inspection under a bright light that just the very occasional small and extremely faint paper scuff line can be detected and on side 1 two extrmely faint sadow lines (you will need to tilt the vinyl to the right angle in a good light in order to spot them!). The labels are in excellent plus (EX+) condition also - I can just about make out a few very small and extremely faint spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each label, otherwise perfect. Clearly this is a record that has been played only a few times. At least very good plus (VG+) condition Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold outer sleeve with firm edges with just some very minor intermittent light scuffing on the front top and bottom edges, and the occasional tiny "nick" on the other edges and spine. There are just a few very light handling/storage marks on the reverse side (see photos) but no blemish of any real significance. The opening edges remain form with no fraying and the corners remain nicely defined right angles with very minimal rubbing. There is the 1st pressing hint of blue in the black colouring of the gatefold and the 1st press circular sticker at the top right corner of the front side remains in excellent shape. Both posters are unused and in excellent plus condition with no tears, blue tac residue or pin holes; and similarly for the two "CRACK BACK" stickers which are again unused, the only blemish being a fold in one of the stickers (see photo). Superb, excellent plus (EX+) sound quality with no sticks, skips, repeats, clicks, distortion or background crackle - wonderful tone and crystal clear stereo reproduction with brilliant hard-to-fault sound quality throughout. I think I detected a couple of very minor background static crackles on side 2 but this is no more than you would expect from a brand new record. Comes with poly-lined black inner sleeve (I can't vouch that this is the original though I have no reason to suppose that it isn't) with no seam splits but there is some creasing. Note that I always ship the vinyl in a new plain white inner sleeve in order to protect the original. A truly excellent condition copy of this 1973 UK 2nd press Pink Floyd classic - no wonder these A3/B3 matrix pressings are so sought after - the stereo sound quality is truly stunning!
