PINK FLOYD - THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON
1973 UK 1st pressing complete with rarer midnight blue gatefold, original posters and unused stickers, and truly impressive stereo sound quality throughout
Year/Label : 1973 UK HARVEST Label number : SHVL 804 Matrix numbers : SHVL 804 A-2, SHVL 804 B-2 Stampers : 3 HA / 3 MGExcellent (EX) condition vinyl - flat and retaining a beautiful jet black lacquered sheen, coming across as virtually unmarked in normal daylight and it is only with close scrutiny under a bright light that just a couple of extremely fine wispy hairlines and equally fine and light paper scuffs come into view on each side - obviously nothing feelable, all appearing to be purely superficial and not impacting upon the overall terrific stereo sound quality. The labels are in excellent plus (EX+) condition - the all important very 1st press solid blue triangles on each label are in great shape and the only blemishes are just a few small and extremely light stray spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each label. Clearly this is a record that has been only sparingly played and well looked after. Very good plus (VG+) condition Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold outer sleeve - firm edges with some intermittent light scuffing on each of the top and bottom edges, near perfectly defined right angled corners with a little rubbing on each, firm opening edges with no fraying, no creasing, no unwanted writing, and all colours, art work and text remaining in great condition with near perfect definition still. There is a small area of horizontal scuffing towards the bottom edge on the front side (see photo) and the hint of some very mild ring wear towards the top and bottom edges on both the front and reverse sides. The interior of the gatefold remains in great condition and when the gatefold is held up to the light it is clear to see the midnight blue hue synonymous with very 1st pressings, and which typically house the sought after solid blue labelled vinyl. Both light matt posters (not super glossy and super smooth as per later pressings) remain in excellent (EX) condition with no tears or pin holes, just a couple of non-obvious storage/handling surface marks. The two stickers (both "CRACKBACK") are unused and remain in virtually"as new" condition. Truly excellent (EX) stereo sound quality with no sticks, skips, repeats, distortion, or obvious clicks - just a couple of very light random clicks on each side with no obvious cause - probably a speck or two of dust caught in the grooves through decades of storage. Background crackle is at an absolute minimum - just the merest hint of some very, very light background crackle during a couple of the quieter passages on each side - negligible, and certainly nothing to impinge upon what is a great listen from start to finish...timeless, wonderful prog!! Comes with original poly-lined black inner sleeve with correct "PATENT Nos..." and "MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN" horizontal text, with no tears or seam splits or age discolouration, and barely any creasing either. Note that I always ship the vinyl in a new plain white inner sleeve in order to protect the original. An overall great condition copy of this 1973 very 1st UK press Pink Floyd holy grail - complete with all of it's components and truly impressive stereo sound quality...who could ask for more?!

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
