Description

PINK FLOYD - THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON

1973 UK 3rd pressing with truly excellent condition vinyl and brilliant stereo sound quality throughout

Year/Label : 1973 UK HARVEST Label number : SHVL 804 Matrix numbers : SHVL 804 A-3, SHVL 804 B-3 Stampers :  3 GPD  / 1 OP
Excellent (EX) condition vinyl - completely flat and retaining an impressive jet black sheen still and in normal daylight each side of the vinyl comes across as unmarked; with close inspection under a bright light a few very wispy hairlines and extremely faint paper scuffs can be identified on each side of the vinyl but nothing obvious, nothing feelable, nothing unsightly, and all appearing to be strictly surface only and purely superficial (as evidenced by the terrific stereo sound quality).  Each label is in excellent plus (EX+) condition - I can just about make out two very small and extremely faint spindle trails on the side 2 label, but none at all on the side 1 label and no other blemishes at all.  Clearly this is a record that has been only sparingly played.   Very good plus (VG+) condition Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold outer sleeve - firm edges with just the very occasional and very light scuff mark on the bottom  edges (including a 1cm continuous scuff adjacent to each of the bottom corners) and a couple of non-obvious small "nicks" on the top edge, a rigid spine with no scuffs and just a couple of tiny "nicks", near perfectly defined right angled corners with just a little rubbing on the opening side corners and a very light 5cm diagonal cardboard crease which does show through to the reverse side at the bottom right corner, firm opening edges with no fraying, no other creasing, no unwanted writing, just the hint of some very mild ring wear next to the top edge on the reverse side and all colours, art work and text remaining in great condition with perfect definition still. The inside of the gatefold is excellent with the only blemish being the aforementioned light diagonal crease at the bottom corners. There are also a couple of small and very light handling/storage marks on each of the front and reverse sides but overall this gatefold copy remains in lovely condition, fully functional, and very presentable...do take a close look at my photos to satisfy yourself of this!  Both light matt posters (not super glossy and super smooth as per later pressings) remain in unused excellent plus (EX+) condition.  The two stickers are also in similarly unused condition though one does have a fold (see photo) and note that these are NOT the earlier press "FasPrint", "Crack-Back" oer "Permanent" stickers.  Truly excellent plus (EX+) stereo sound quality with no sticks, skips, repeats, distortion, or background crackle/interference - wonderful sound quality comprising great tone and crystal clear stereo reproduction throughout. I came across x2 random solitary light clicks but after I gave the vinyl a mild wipe with a damp cloth these clicks disappeared so basically no clicks at all to my knowledge! A great listen - timeless prog! The original black inner sleeve is missing so I will ship in a plain white anti-static poly-lined sleeve.    Stunning! Try finding a UK 2nd pressing of this prog masterpiece in condition as truly wonderful as this - you'll spend a long time searching!
POSTAGE COSTS :

For the UK £3.38 using Royal Mail tracked 48 (ebay "Simple Delivery");

for continental Europe £12 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for,

and for the rest of the world £18 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for.

I do provide posting and packaging discounts for multiple purchases. I make no profit from postage.

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.

A bit about myself : I have been collecting UK vinyl for over 55 years from a variety of sources : my own collection, friends and family, car boot and garage sales, door-to-door leaflets, and even through placing an advert in my wife's shop window! My ebay feedback speaks for itself so rest assured that you are buying from a trusted seller and in the very unlikely event that you are unhappy with your purchase just e-mail me and I will sort out the problem. I offer a "no questions asked" refund policy.
