Description
For sale is a genuine and complete First U.K. press of this iconic album, with the solid blue triangle labels, and original 1973 posters and stickers.
Many copies for sale include modern copies of the posters and stickers, rather than the originals.
Original gatefold sleeve, with opening on right side as you open it towards you, in solid VG+ condition. Minor ring wear and edge wear but fully intact with no tears
Someone has suggested that the sleeve is not from the first issue, as it is not dark midnight blue but is a later black one.
Please see the extra photo I have provided which compares the listed copy (the top sleeve) with a slightly later issue black sleeve. To my eyesight the copy listed is more a very dark blue than black.
Record has A2/B2 matrices. 3TR and 1HO stampers
Both labels in great clean condition.
Visually side one is VG+ with just a few wispy hairlines visible under bright light.
Side two is visually excellent with hardly a mark.
Sonically side one is close to excellent, with no skips or jumps. There are 4 or 5 very light ticks at the very beginning of track 1 and only lightest of crackles noticeable on dead wax run in and run out. The rest is clean vibrant recorded sound
Side two would also be excellent,apart from the renowned very brief skip on the track Money. Otherwise superb clear playback with no discernible crackles, clicks or ticks.
Original stickers both in strong VG+ condition
Original posters likewise. - they don’t have the drawing pin marks that so many have. The back of the posters has the faded off-white colour with slight foxing commensurate with their age.
Original black paper inner sleeve in VG+ condition
An all round great copy of a very desirable iconic album.
If it weren’t for the renowned skip I would be setting a much higher price. Serious offers will be considered. Serious offers means considerably ABOVE the starting price.
