Description
I have very sadly decided to sell the remainder of my own record collection over the next few weeks. It is varied in its content from 60/70's Folk/Rock, incl rare Zeppelin and Floyd 1st presses, some Beatles and Dylan,including Japanese presses, various now deleted Audiophile pressings and female vocal. Some records I have owned since new, others I have carefully selected and picked up along the way. I have always tried to collect the best and earliest copies.
I will keep descriptions as simple as possible rather than do elaborate advertisements.
Whilst I have owned the records they have only ever been played on either a Michell Orbe or SME Model 20 turntable, both fitted with SME V tonearms and quality cartridges such as the Lyra Delos. My last phono stage was the Reference Whest PS 30RDT SE coupled to Vitus amplification and Sonus Faber Cremona M speakers. Not only has this been a revealing system, giving me an accurate assessment of all records played on it, but it has, I hope, always looked after the vinyl.
I clean all my records on an Okki Nokki RCM before putting them in new Nagaoka anti-static record sleeves and plastic outer sleeves. They have always been very carefully stored in a smoke free enviroment.
I will grade using the Record Collector system, erring on the side of caution as I have sold the SME. I am also selling the phono stage and cartrige. I am happy to discuss details with any buyers.

I have had this record for a number of years having acquired it from the original Japanese owner. I had played this only ONCE in all that time!!! It is the very earliest of the Japanese 1st Presses. I have had and seen other 1st Presses and this has an OBI with a price of Y 2,000 not Y 2,200 as seen on the others.
I have today played it through a second time in order to write this. It is quite simply a stunning copy. I have an Original English Solid Blue (which is also for sale) and have heard others and this is as good if not better than any of them sonically. If you want to hear what 'Dark Side' can really sound like then don't miss this very rare opportunity.....
Outer Sleeve - N Mint. This is stunning. It has lost absolutely none of its original colour at all. It is totally flat with no creases at all on the main front and back faces. There is no shelf wear at all anywhere. There is a minor crease to the top right corner were presumably it was caught at some time and the spine has a single crease line down its entire length which is absolutely normal with these "soft" covers as that is how they fold open. I doubt there is a better one, certainly in this country
Inner Sleeve - Mint
Booklet, Poster & Postcards - Mint
Labels - N Mint. There are 3 tiny, very short and very faint spindle traces to be seen only in bright light on either side.
Vinyl visualy - Mint. Whether in normal or the very brightest light, there is absolutely nothing, I repeat nothing to be seen. I have only ever seen brand new records as perfect.
Vinyl Play - N Mint. There is only the very barest of vinyl surface noise to be heard at the beginning of each side for the first few seconds and very occasionally at other times. It is easy to forget your listening to vinyl it is so quiet.
I had played this record once only. The Japanese gentleman I bought it from a few years ago assured me it had only been played on 3 occasions that he could remember (he actually tried to buy it back some time later). I cannot express enough how superb the condition of this is. It is very nearly as it was when purchased brand new.
English 1st presses are sort after due to their superior sound. This is no different at all. It is an absolute sonic masterpiece!!!
This is why I have listed this at a Fixed Price because of its comparable sonic brilliance and believe it to be worth as much simply in those terms. But it also comes with a rare Japanese 32 page Booklet which English presses didn't.
Unless there is a Solid Blue - English or Japanese out there that has been stored in a vault these last 40 years, then this is I believe as good as you will possibly find.
