PINK FLOYD: THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON
FIRST UK ISSUE VINYL LP ON HARVEST
A genuine 1st UK issue of this classic album, with the sought-after solid blue prism labels.

The LP has the following identifiable details which are specific to the first issue (from Discogs):
1. The label has a solid light blue prism. Subsequent pressings have a blue glowing inner edge prism with the centre black.
2. 'The Gramophone Co.' text starts at 10 o'clock on label.
3. A-2/B-2 matrix stamps appear in the runout area.
4. Thick heavyweight vinyl believed by some to be the 'finest' and most true encapsulation of this historical recording as the first pressing was pressed direct from the original masterplate.
5. There is a distinct bluish tint/tinge in the black ink of the cover.
6. There are three known original sleeve variations, of which this is the third, i.e. the right front opening of the gatefold cover is not sealed.
7. Inner sleeve is a distinctive *polythene lined die cut black semi matt paper with white printed text stating 2 patent numbers bottom left [1125555/1072844] and 'MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN' bottom right. (*the poly lining is not present in the inner with this record).
There are no posters or stickers with this LP
CONDITION OF VINYL:
Shiny black vinyl with clean labels. Hairline marks but nothing deep or major. Very slight edge warp which doesn't affect play at all. The album plays as a strong VG+ to EX, with just the occasional bit of faint surface noise.
CONDITION OF SLEEVE AND INNERS:
Please see the close-up photos. The outer sleeve is quite well-worn, especially around the edges and spine, with additional ringwear, creasing and indentations. There are no tears or pen marks. The inside of the gatefold is generally well-preserved. Overall I would grade this as Good. The original black inner has a little creasing and has lost its poly lining, but is otherwise ok.
