Pink Floyd Dark Side Of The Moon Vinyl LP 1973 1974 Early UK Pressing SHVL 804 A5

Up for sale is a stunning, vintage early UK pressing (circa 1973/1974) of Pink Floyd’s progressive rock masterpiece, The Dark Side of the Moon (Harvest Records, SHVL 804).

This exceptional copy features the highly regarded SHVL 804 A-5 / B-5 matrix configurations stamped into the dead wax runout. Highly coveted by audiophiles and classic rock purists alike, this early-70s UK analog cutting delivers the deep, warm, and expansive soundstage that flat modern digital remasters simply cannot replicate.

Housed in its iconic, original midnight-black gatefold sleeve featuring the translucent light-blue outlined prism center label, this record represents the golden era of British vinyl manufacturing. It offers collectors a magnificent, tangible piece of music history featuring the definitive mix of one of the greatest albums ever recorded.

Condition Profile and Playback Expectations:

Vinyl Grade: (V-VG to V-VG+)
The vinyl retains a brilliant, deep factory luster and gloss. Please note that this is an honestly enjoyed vintage record; under direct light, it exhibits typical light cosmetic surface scuffs, faint sleeve hairlines, and minor needle marks from decades of careful use. Crucially, there are no deep feelable gouges, heavy scratches, or severe defects that would suggest the record is prone to skipping.

Center Labels:
The Side 1 and 2 center label are both in good, clean condition. The paper remains bright with crisp, fully legible silver text and features the classic early-70s light-blue translucent prism design. There are some light spindle trails and minor surface wear around the center hole from careful playback, but no writing, tears, or major blemishes.

Outer Gatefold Cover Grade: (VG)
An authentic original UK gatefold jacket. Structurally good and sturdy with honest vintage shelf wear, some corner rubbing, and edge whitening as is common with vintage vinyl. The internal lyrics and iconic heartbeat graphic remain vibrant, clean, and free of any writing or major staining.

Inner Sleeve Grade: (VG)
Authentic original poly-lined inner sleeve. Clean with minor age toning, light creasing, and a soft ring shadow from decades of storage. The seams are tight, solid, and free of splits.

Inserts Note:
Please review the photos to confirm exactly what is included. This copy is sold as the core album and gatefold sleeve only, without the original posters or stickers.

Important Grading Disclaimer:

"This vintage record has been visually graded under bright direct light and carefully inspected for scratches, gouges, and other significant defects, all of which have been accurately described and photographed where applicable. As the record has not been recently play-tested, I cannot guarantee completely silent playback; expect some light surface noise or occasional dust crackle between tracks, which is common with vintage vinyl.
That said, based on its visual condition and my experience with handling vinyl, I am confident this copy will provide an enjoyable, deeply immersive listening experience. Sold as described and graded on visual inspection."
