Brief Info: An album that needs no introduction, it’s classic status amongst progressive rock albums is worldwide. It remains one of the greatest albums ever made and it’s hi-fi sound quality is still up there with the very best ever. This 2003 30th anniversary pressing upholds all its original factors and is as magnificent as when first issued in 1973. The only real differences is an extra poster and insert which never came with the original.

Cover Grade and Format: EXCELLENT(++): an unlaminated gatefold format with matt, smooth surfaces. The back has the manufacture barcode details, the actual artwork is the same as the original. Printed and made in the EU. Includes the original style two posters and stickers, plus an extra unique poster plus a large square sticker with ‘PINK FLOYD The Dark Side Of The Moon 30TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION VINYL’, also unique to this set. It has a matt black soft-lined inner sleeve as well that has no text.

Cover Front: The famous prism and spectrum artwork is seldom seen better than this now. Cover-protected from new by one owner, this is almost as-made. Appearing hardly handled with no sticker issues, this delicate and wear-prone front has little to fault bar a trace of thickening on the right entrance edge here-and-there and registering little.

Cover Back: Largely the same again, any blemishes or faint fine crease traces few and faint. The manufacturer’s sticker virtually as-made and never picked at or removed.

Cover Inner Gatefold: Virtually as new.

Top & Bottom Edges: All four thick, straight, flush and unworn.

Right Edge(s), and Type: Both sides are open for record and inserts storage. Mostly sharp with any thickening little and light as mentioned above.

Spine and Text: A very thick, wide spine that is little short of mint as-made. Solid, straight with no compression or tilt and folded square, so the edges meet up very closely together and parallel. The delicate black surface is superb with no rubbing or dinks.

Corners: Any tip rubs tiny and light – barely any at all, with near mint shape retained with no knocks.

Cover Summary: A very strong all-round example of this classic, but still quite fragile cover, one that will prove very difficult to find much better. This beautiful item should please many collectors.

The Inner Sleeve: EXCELLENT(+): a matt black soft-lined inner with no text printed. Clean, fresh with two crisp undamaged window circles, the lining was manufactured opaque and fully intact, as are all the closed fold edges. Any hint of paper creasing, few, gentle and faint

The Posters: NEAR MINT: All three posters are unmounted (e.g. no pin-holes or tape marks), clean and very fresh. I doubt if they have barely been unfolded in fact. Printed on one wide only, the white backs are unaged or darkened. All folds very strong with any hint of storage creasing minuscule. One poster is unique to this special pressing, the overall quality I feel is superior to the originals issued back in the 70s.

The Stickers: NEAR MINT: and the two smaller ‘original’ stickers better still. The new large square sticker has one tiny mark and faint trace of a corner tip semi-crease (being ultra critical), but little else. All three stickers retain immaculate backs and have never been ‘broken’ for usage. So all are as close to as-made is is almost possible as seen.

Vinyl Condition/Visual Grading: MINT(–): arguably better and played just a couple of times. A very fine visual copy that is very clean with equally fine shine and very heavily pressed on high-quality virgin vinyl. Any surface traces very few, equally light and faint as seen critically under bright light. No penetrating stylus scratches, viewed in average room light, hardly anything even registers. Visually a super record that should please many, if not most collectors.

Album Played For Grading: Yes. [I play ALL records I offer before submitting to Ebay, also the record is played in its entirety unless clearly stated otherwise.

Sound Quality and Audio Grading: This magnificent, popular album, that simply refuses to age, plays up to, and mostly even above it’s high visual grading with little to fault. Offering strong, distortion-free sound, all frequencies are sharp and clear – sound quality is very high with a wide dynamic range and very detailed sound. Any surface sounds are minimal indeed and this is a very clean pressing with no tracking issues* or inherent pressing noises. With some very quiet passages – including the beginning and end heartbeats – the odd contact sound is almost unavoidable on any copy of this record at very best, but few were heard overall on this lovely special copy. The dynamic range and warmth of this vinyl record do the brilliant of the music full justice and will give any modern hi-fi system a real workout. Few available copies, no matter when they were made, will outperform this high-quality 30th anniversary pressing I feel sure. And remember, this rock masterpiece is fast approaching it’s 50th anniversary. Nothing of any real note spoilt my pleasure when play-grading this lovely record, being realistic, few, if any will ever play silent in their entirety. This overall, one of the very best and enjoyable copies I have heard. Played on a worthy system, this will thrill for years to come. It will prove very difficult to find significantly better and can be strongly recommended.
