Description
PINK FLOYD
THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON
1973 HARVEST SHVL 804
Original solid BLUE Triangle
Matrix nos A2 / B2
The LABELS
Both sides lovely and clean, spindle marks, but no wear around hole.
No writing etc.
The VINYL
Visually the vinyl looks very good but is not without one or two marks.
Having just played the LP through for the first time in many years, for the purpose
of writing this description, there are a few things I need to mention regarding playback.
There is a little surface noise on some of the quieter moments, but to my ears
is never too intrusive. There are some 'clicks' on the intro to "Time" and the
last few seconds of "The Great gig in the Sky" on side one, and during
"Us and Them" on side two, however these are not heavy 'thuds'.
Finally there is a little 'jump' approx 30 seconds or so into "Money"
Despite these problems, this is still a great listen, and I think it merits
a VG rating.
The SLEEVE
The gatefold sleeve has a its original round sticker in the top right corner.
On the back, top right corner, printed in white "SHVL 804 (IE 064 . 05249) stereo"
On the inside of gatefold, printed in blue;
"Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd"
The sleeve opens at on side only. To my eyes the sleeve colour is black,
not blue/black. I have had this LP for well over 30 years, and as far as I am aware
it is an original sleeve. It is in EX condition, very clean. (Always been stored in fairly
heavy duty plastic sleeve)
The POSTERS and STICKERS
The two posters are in EX condition, never used and kept safely in the sleeve.
The "Group" poster has SHVL 804 printed in bottom right corner.
The stickers are the original "FasPrint" permanent stickers, with 3 diagonal
brown lines, and instructions, and these too are unused and in EX condition.
Finally The INNER SLEEVE is black and polylined, with patent information
printed on bottom left, and "Made in Great Britain" bottom right.
To sum up, A Fabulous, Historic and innovative LP. This copy has its
faults, but it is still a great listen.
Thank you for taking time to read this epic mini novel, a true and honest
account of the condition of a legendary piece of music.
( I am able to post by "recorded" (UK), and "international signed for" (overseas).)
