Description
PINK FLOYD The dark side of the moon (South Korea) Capitol/EMI/Oasis OLE-288 (SMAS-11163)
(This is a scarce early ‘80s official South Korean pressing in a single LP sleeve (not gatefold) with insert. Record has regular Capitol labels with a November 1979 release date and is in a plastic EMI/Oasis inner sleeve (Oasis was a legit major Korean label which distributed EMI and WEA product in Korea). This album only has 8 tracks, instead of the 10 tracks on Western issues. “Us and them” and “Brain damage” are dropped from side two due to being deemed subversive by the military government of the time.)
Record Grade: (VG+ to) EX-
(Fairly clean under regular light, but some small light scuffs show up under very strong light.)
[Please note: I grade under very strong light catching angles. Some of the super light marks really aren't apparent without powerful light and the right angle, and it's unlikely they'll have much, if any, audio impact.]
Cover Grade: EX- (One the EX side of EX-. No bends, sticker, splits, etc but there's some light shelf wear. Korean language insert is cleaner than comes across in pics, and is pretty much EX or better except for a tiny dot of humidity.)
(smudged on the scans are more so from the glass on the scanner than the actual cover)
FREE SHIPPING TO AUSTRALIA (registered post on $20+ items)
INTERNATIONAL BUYERS NOTE: Import taxes are the responsibility of the buyer. Please be aware of these costs before bidding. (International Postage terms: see below) Posted with vinyl outside of sleeve to prevent sleeve splits in transit. Packed in solid cardboard. Japanese pressings are usually heavier packages.
IMPORTANT: All records graded carefully under strong light.
I have a long standing good reputation for grading and I use
the UK grading system which includes EX grades. I am used to
strict Japanese grading standards. If a disc is graded EX you
will not receive something that should be VG+. On the off chance
that happens, please contact me and I will sort it out.
International Postage to North East Asia and NZ only:
These discs are generally aimed at Australian buyers,
but I have a lot of experience posting internationally.
International postage on these initial listings will be an $ AU 30 flat rate .
(I'll cover the difference, including tracking etc., and if actual postage
does happen to come in lower I'll refund the difference back.)
If you would like to combine international postage on multiple items
please wait for an invoice.
NOTE: I am going to be selling my own collection of clean
Japanese pressings with obi's and other discs this year.
Inc. a lot of punk WL Promo LPs + Blue Note jazz + Aussie bands
I have 10 DJ cases, but I have issues with storage because my
wife and I have been relocating between Australia and Korea.
Vinyl is visually graded only. My sound system is still in storage in
another city.
Grading note: Very clean near mint records may sometimes have tiny
specks of dust or very small ultra thin fabric strands (which can sometimes
be mistaken for marks) on the vinyl, which come from the inside of
inner sleeves. Both of these will likely be removed by the stylus on first play.
If I can, I send items out in anti-static inner sleeves to try to minimize
this.
