Description
I will be listing quite a large number of rare Pink Floyd albums over the coming days and weeks. Why not add me as a favourite seller and get informed automatically when new items are listed.
For sale here is Pink Floyds most iconic album originally from 1973, "The dark side of the moon". This is a quadrophonic 1st UK pressing with A1 / B2 matrices. Mothers and stampers are as follows:- SIDE ONE 1/P SIDE TWO 1/T Very early numbers indeed!
Also included in the auction are both posters and both stickers.
The cover is extremely solid and virtually unmarked. There is absolute minimum shelf-wear to any edges, with just a small rub area on the spine and a light disc impression to the rear. Pretty hard to fault for its age. Grades excellent minus.
The inner sleeve is a generic white one, and most certainly not the original sadly. However it is in great shape and the vinyl is now housed in a brand new anti-static inner sleeve.
The labels show no spindle trails that I can see. I feel this has had very little play.
The vinyl visually is really good. Some wispy hairlines here and there, but nothing that can be felt, or even look worrying. Visual grade is near excellent.
Fully play-graded as below.
Referring to my play-grading notebook, I made the following comments. Firstly, side 2 plays much much better than side 1. Side one starts with some light surface noise present. Track 2 has a tick and a click during it. A handful of ticks on track 3 and a couple also on track 4. Due to these ticks/clicks, although the overall sound, detail and clarity are really good, I can only grade it as very good. Side 2 is a whole different story. A spot of light surface noise at the start, then the rest of the side plays really really well. Side 2 grades as excellent.
Both posters are in excellent original condition.
Both postcard/stickers are near excellent.
I am sure the winner will be pleased with it, but I do offer a full return and refund policy if not as described. Nice to find the quadrophonic version with such early mothers and stampers. The quad pressing plays fine on a stereo set-up, but just presents the music in a slightly different way, with a different mix and emphasis on different instruments.
Happy to post overseas, but not to Russia, Belarus or Ukraine. Any bids from those countries will be cancelled. Postage within the UK is free, by Royal Mail 48, so delivered in 2 days. If my quoted price is more than the actual cost once I have that figure, I will refund the difference immediately. I do not and will not profit on postage and packing costs.
I have had to put a cost in for overseas postage, so I have added the price for Euro zone delivery.
