For sale here is a genuine early second pressing of the iconic Pink Floyd album from 1973 "The dark side of the moon". This is the original UK second pressing with the Gramophone Co Ltd text on the labels and the matrices of A3 / B2. Released close on the heels of the solid blue triangle A2 / B2 edition. It is well documented that the solid blue triangle variant was removed from sale as it was very hard to read the track information with silver print on a blue background, hence the blue outline labels took over. I think we all also know that the solid blue labels were released in hundreds of thousands, and is why we see several for sale every week now at grossly inflated prices. The second generation A3 / B2 had the same sound quality but without the pressing problems (like the "skip" on the track Money).
This copy has all the correct 2nd press attributes. The Gramophone Co Ltd text on the labels (changed to EMI on later pressings). The blue tinted and not true black cover. The black inner sleeve with silver/lilac lettering. The 2 posters printed on a heavier and slightly matt finish paper, grade as excellent. The 2 earliest issue postcards (not switched from later issues as some do!) with "permanent" in red lettering on the back with a scalloped tear off backing, not diagonal lines. Both cards have a crease where they have caught in the gatefold hinge, but are very solid and grade very good plus. Yes, this one is 100% genuine in all of its parts.
The cover is graded as very good. This album always suffers with marking being so dark. Every mark shows. This copy is very solid, but grades accurately as very good. The paper inner sleeve is the correct one, black in colour with the print on the bottom corners in a silvery lilac print. In great condition and grades as excellent. The glossy vinyl is in good shape. Graded strictly to record collector standards as very good, as it does have signs of being played. Light sleeve removal marks, some light scuffs and fortunately with such a dense vinyl (weighs in at a hefty 160 grams) impact to sound quality should not be overpowering. Mothers and stampers are 1/GHG and ?/GMH, so a pretty early one. Copies of this album with the A3 / B2 matrices show up quite rarely, especially with both posters and postcards and with original black inner sleeve. All in all, a very decent copy of a desirable Floyd album. Highly collectable.

I do not and will not ever make a profit on postage charges. I charge exactly what it costs me, often less. I try and recycle my packing materials, but vinyl is posted in extremely robust materials with vinyl separated from the cover to prevent damage in transit. I house EVERY vinyl I sell in a brand new anti-static bag and the cover in a new heavy duty polythene sleeve.
