Echoes : The Best Of Pink Floyd 4LP Box Set 

This highly collectable four 4LP box set is in wonderful condition and the audio on every side plays to an immaculate standard.  The vinyls have only been once in order to play test them so understandably there is no spindle wear and they all retain a stunning glossy sheen.

'Echoes' was released in 2001 and the records are pressed on super heavyweight vinyl.  Each LP is housed inside its own respective lyric sleeve which in turn is contained within a thicker glossy picture sleeve.  The 'set' is contained within a hardback slipcase box.

Visual grading

All four vinyls have a lovely glossy sheen with no hairlines or scratches and are visually stunning.  They have no spindle wear and it is obvious they have been hardly played.  Rarely have I seen this box set looking so clean and unplayed.  The run out grooves are super clean also and look untouched.

Play grading

This is the first time they have played in 16 years and wow do they play well!  The depth, clarity and warmth of the recording is stunning and there is no intrusive interference at all.  Where I have graded one as Mint- this is generally due to a minor (and I mean minor!) amount of dust ticks on the intro.  This is commonplace on the first few grooves of any vinyl but in saying that many intros play perfectly.  'Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun' is a prime example of that.  A very quiet track and yet it plays as Mint from beginning to end.  

The Box

The slipcase box is in superb condition with only a handful of very minor marks on the reverse side.  Aside from that it is in near perfect condition.

Outer and Inner Sleeves

The glossy outer sleeves are all in impeccable condition, only the fourth has a tiny crease on one corner.  The lyric sleeves are in lovely unmarked condition although the first two do have splits to one side, 5cms and 3cms respectively.  Overall though they are in great shape with these two small splits being the only 'shelf wear'.

The labels

They are in perfect condition with no spindle wear and the run out grooves are also exceptionally clean.
