"IT WOULD BE SO NICE / JULIA DREAM "
Original DEMO on the TOWER RECORDS lable cat# 426 vintage 1968 release
The PINK FLOYD had survived the loss of their enigmatic 'tragic genius' Syd Barrett, but struggled still to make any impression on the single charts after he went by their wayside. It was Syd's band, but they continued to pick up the pieces.. and rather well (as we now know!), but it took perseverance and intent. Unlike their earlier singles, this double-sider was issued in the USA partly because of the successes of other psychedelic acts around this time - and they were touring there sporadically. TOWER RECORDS had stuck with them in the US and carried their first two LP's, but their singles sank without trace.
In The UK they fared similarly poorly but at least had some renown, a following, and even a couple of decent moderate hit singles too.
So - here's a very rare item from their history - the White Label PROMO edition of a great 7" - for play or display!
Don't miss this scarce original Demo copy.
The vinyl is GOOD condition, a fair amount of scuff, playing through with crackle.
The Lables grade VG+ condition, fairly clean and white, number '2' on the 'b' side.
Not a top copy, but a nice piece of memorabilia from their amazing history!
